[Intro] Walking the Path of Sacred Breath

Walking the Path of Sacred Breath

Hello dear community 🌱

My name is Fabio – though along the spiritual path, many have called me Pajé, a word that in some traditions means “healer” or “forest guide.” I join this sacred space with deep gratitude, open heart, and attentive ears.

Over the past 15+ years, I’ve been walking a path of ritual, devotion, and learning with master plants — particularly Rapé, the sacred snuff used across the Amazon for clarity, grounding, and prayer. I don’t come here as a teacher, but as a fellow traveler. Someone who breathes with the forest and listens to the subtle messages that rise in ceremony.

I was initiated into spiritual work through Afro-Brazilian traditions and later embraced guidance from Indigenous teachers. My path has always been one of bridges — between cultures, between the seen and unseen, between silence and song.

I currently live in Europe, where I try to hold ceremonial space and share what I’ve learned with deep respect. Still, I consider myself forever a student of Spirit.

Here in DMT Nexus, I hope to learn from your journeys, contribute where I can, and keep weaving threads of wisdom across worlds. I’m especially interested in conversations around integration, ritual safety, the role of breath and intention, and how we adapt ancient practices without diluting their soul.

If you ever want to talk about Rapé, ritual design, the power of breath, or how to walk gently with the invisible — I’m here, humbled and curious.

Thank you for holding this space.
May the wind guide your steps. 🌬️

Power of breath is certainly resonating, as it can be the most grounding and humbling basic experience that one can have.
That's why I preach 24/7 about the runners high. I know it's not for everybody...I believe every human should at least try running for 3 months 3 days a week and once they feel that runners high...it's unlike anything related to endorphin release and meditation. Pure bliss

Hello Fabio/Paje,

Welcome to the Nexus.

That was an interesting intro but the right side of each line got cut off and made it a bit difficult. Perhaps you should take Moderator Voidmatrix up on his suggestion, :D.

You sound like a fascinating person on a powerful path. I really appreciated that you also gave humility and curiosity space in your intro. I have no doubt the world is a better place with you in it.

Again, welcome, :D.

Do you mind if I edit this to make it a more inviting read for others? I only want to make sure people don't have to side scroll to read it all.

One love
Thank you for your kind concern 🙏
I've already edited the post — my apologies for the poor formatting, I’m still getting used to the platform.
Really appreciate you taking the time to look out for the flow of the space.

You're absolutely right about the formatting — I’ve fixed it now (lesson learned for next time!). I’m still finding my way around the platform and really appreciate everyone’s patience.

I’m glad the humility and curiosity came through in my intro. To me, they are essential parts of the path — a reminder that we’re always learning, and every meeting can be a teaching.

Heartfelt thanks again for your warmth.

Welcome!

I for one would love to hear more about your work with rapé. I've done it at ayahuasca ceremonies and it affected me in various ways there, both good and 'challenging'.
I'm curious about exploring rapé more on my own, but I'm sort of clueless about how to approach this medicine. I also saw clears signs of (functional) addiction to rapé with other ceremony participants, which makes me slightly wary of it. Care to expand on your use of it?

I completely understand the mix of fascination and caution that can come with Rapé. It’s a powerful medicine, yet very subtle — not psychedelic in the classic sense, but capable of opening deep processes in the body and spirit.

I was trained in ritual use of Rapé by a descendant of the Huni Kuin (Kaxinawá), and most of the time I offer it in ceremonial context. That said, it can also be used alone — but always with respect and clear intention. In those cases, I recommend choosing a mild Rapé and applying it with what we call an "alegre soplo" — a joyful, light-hearted blow, with a grounded presence.

As for concerns about addiction: yes, I’ve seen a few cases, but they’re rare. Rapé is not chemically addictive — it’s not psychoactive. Sometimes the soul is going through a lot and asks for more doses over a period of time, but this usually settles once the energy finds balance. I always encourage people to use it consciously, with inner listening and not as an escape.

I've written a short ebook in Spanish called “The 7 Most Common Mistakes When Using Rapé”. It's totally free, and I share it with anyone curious about this medicine:

Happy to keep the conversation going if you want to go deeper into the practice or ask about specific blends and uses.

With gratitude

Greetings Fabio.
Great to have someone on your path here.
Looking forward to hearing more about your experiences.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome 🙏
It truly means a lot to be received like this.

I feel honored to walk this path alongside people who carry so much depth and curiosity. I’ll be happy to share more soon — stories, insights, and also some questions I carry with me. The medicine continues to teach every day.

Grateful to be here 🌿

Could you expand a little on the nature of the processes in body/spirit rapé can open?

Nice, the ceremonies I attended were with Huni Kuin shamans-- they were wonderful (y).

Thanks for sharing your knowledge/experiences here

@Fabini as you will see, I have removed the link to your website as not only is that self-advertisement (something that we usually don't allow without explicit permission from the staff team), but also to get the book you have to provide a name and an email address, which is personal information not everyone around here would be willing to disclose.

If you want to provide it for free to the Nexus, you're welcome to attach it to a thread/post as an attachment so people can download it without leaving the Nexus.

Thanks for the understanding.

Thank you so much — your words are received with joy and gratitude 🌿

Beautiful to hear that you’ve sat in ceremony with Huni Kuin shamans as well. There’s a very special energy they carry: joyful, grounded, powerful, yet never forceful.

As for the processes that Rapé can open…

In the body, it often clears blocked energy — especially around the head, throat, chest or gut. People sometimes release mucus, tears, yawns, tension, or even memories held in the nervous system. It can bring awareness to forgotten sensations or guide you to breathe deeper into your own presence. It's subtle, but powerful. Like an energetic broom for the soul.

In the spirit, Rapé can restore alignment. Sometimes it brings visions, but more often it brings a deep silence — a sense of “inner verticality,” as if your soul is standing tall again. Some people reconnect with grief, with clarity, with forgotten parts of themselves. Others simply feel re-centered and held.

The effects vary depending on the person, the blend, the intention… but in essence, I see Rapé as a teacher of presence, humility, and embodiment.

Thanks again for the exchange. It's a blessing to share in this space with those who truly listen.

Thank you for letting me know and for the clarification 🙏
I understand completely and I apologize for the oversight. I wasn’t intending to promote anything — just to offer a resource freely to those who might be curious.

I truly respect the privacy standards and the spirit of this space. I’ll take your suggestion to heart and will work on preparing an English version of the booklet, formatted specifically to be shared directly here on the Nexus, without external links or personal data required.

Thanks again for the guidance — and for holding the container with such care.

Thank you, I appreciate that greatly, and I'm sure many people will be interested in this booklet.

Cheers! <3

I’m currently preparing the short ebook (in English) specifically to share freely here in the community — a reflection based on years of ritual work with Rapé.

I would like to ask the moderators and community:
Would it be better to create a new thread dedicated to the ebook, or should I attach it as a follow-up post within the current thread where I was originally welcomed?

I want to make sure it stays organized and accessible in the way that best serves the Nexus.
Thanks so much for your guidance and support 🙏

I'm not sure the answer, but can I suggest the use of the alternate spelling Hapé in English when you publish the book? It really transliterates a lot better, and especially if people are looking for info on it online.

Considering what Hapé is, perhaps posting a new thread in this subforum would be best -

Thanks!

I honestly didn’t realize that “Hapé” works better for English-speaking readers in terms of recognition and pronunciation. In Spain we’ve always used the word Rapé, which actually comes from the French and is widely adopted here in European plant medicine circles. But now that I look at it, Hapé does feel much closer to the original Amazonian pronunciation.

We’ll be making the appropriate adjustments in the English translations of both the website and the ebook. From now on, we’ll refer to the medicine as Hapé in English to stay aligned with accessibility and cultural resonance.

Thanks again for your thoughtful input — it's these little things that keep this path alive and evolving 🌿
