Also methanol is so polar that it’s insoluble in heptane, but soluble in almost all other solvents. It's the opposite of what you want. It's a great solvent though. It's one of the best alcohols there is. It evaporates really fast and dissolves almost everything. It’s a great water substitute. It can dissolve many polar compounds that are too polar for normal alcohol.
