yesterday i successfully completed my first extraction using nomans tek.. after all was said and done i had about .4gs of dmt. it was pure white, damn near looked like cocaine, there wasnt even a trace of brown, yellow, nothing left in it just white.. although it looked absolutely amazing, when smoked (about .1 the first time, .2 the second time), the effects werent anywhere as potent as i originally expected.. the was no "blast off" or out of body experiences, no voices, extreme visuals, or really any other of the intense spiritual effect that people are always ranting about... it really just felt like an intense trip on shrooms or a mild acid trip for ten or so minutes.. i just dont understand how a pull that looked so pure produced such mild effects?? if anyone else has ever had this problem or knows what mightve happened during the extraction to reduce potency could ya help me out??

When you say you obtained .4g of DMT, and that you smoked .1 the first time, .2 the second, you mean you smoked 100mg, then 200mg?? If so, that dosing is insane. 20-30mg is the reasonable dose, particularly if it's your first try.

How did you smoke it??

I could be dead wrong but from what ive read and been told you cant od or really have any longterm effects fromm smoking a high dose of dmt so i pretty much just went with what i really thought would send me into hyperspace but no go, even with the insane dosage.. and i just kind of made a dmt/tree sandwich in my metal bullet

Your in for one hell of a shock if you vape 200mg properly.

If I was you I would dramatically drop the dose or your gonna get slapped from here to next Tuesday.

DMT has more power than you can possibly fathom.

Be thankful that a) You most likely burned or melted down the bullet most of your spice and did not actually vaporize it, or b) What you got is not pure spice. Otherwise, as 3rdI says, your ass would have been kicked.

I suggest you to improve your smoking technique or get a proper vaporizer, and for the love of god, be reasonable with the dosing the next time you try.

So pretty much i need to get a proper vapo and cut the dose down dramatically?? What kind of vaporozer?? Would a lightbulb or pretty much a meth rig work or should i use an electronic mj vapo at a real low temp?? Also, does anyone have and answers about why it wouldnt be pure even after i sodium carbonate washed it?? Cause from what you said it might not have actually been dmt, what else could it have been??

Maybe you do have spice, and you actually vaporized a minimal amount of it, the rest being melted or burned. The simple way to know is buying or making yourself a proper vaping device and trying a normal (say 30 mg) dose.

i was sure not to hold the flame on if (from what ive read it has an incredibly low melting point, 110f?? is that about right??) i held it about an inch away and mad sure to hold my hit in as long as possible and go for another one as soon as i blew it out but it still seems like im getting the same mild acid-like effects instead of the intense dmt experience that im lookin for.. would maybe skipping the wash and recrystallizing make the final product more potent?? i just dont understand what the issue could be considering how pure and clean the shit actually looked..

Wouldnt say a re-x makes it any less potent, as with the above posts have a look at how your vaping it. I have had 2/3 attempts when getting used to the methods with just a mild tripping feeling and no visuals.

I've heard that actually smoking (not vaporizing) the DMT is also an effective way of ingesting it...I had a minimal amount of DMT a few months ago and pretty much blew my chance because I tried all these MJ/oregano and DMT sandwiches so I could try to vaporize it, but all I ended up with was a bunch of melted, unused DMT.

I don't wanna blow my chance again, so I think when/if I get a decent yield, I'm gonna sprinkle the stuff on a pipe on top of some MJ, light fire to it, and ingest. Even if it's not the full effect of DMT, I've been wanting to try it for years and need at least one trip out of it, even if it's not the "full experience" of vaporizing. I don't want to invest in a GVG (especially since I know nothing about DMT and its effects...maybe I'll end up hating it and never wanting to do it again), nor do I want to make some sort of apparatus out of metal (at least for the time being).

About how much potency does the DMT lose if you smoke it rather than vaporize it?

Extracted DMT freebase can be vaporized for very potent effects that last around 10 minutes. DMT is ideally vaporized, as opposed to smoked. Vaporization is achieved by a controlled temperature that does not burn/combust DMT material (and potential impurities), but instead just makes DMT evaporate and be inhaled.

Vaporization is much smoother than smoking. Smoking leads to break down of DMT (and impurity) molecules into potential toxic nitrogen oxides (Trout's notes), so not only it is harsher but also there is a significant loss of actives.

Vaporizing can be achieved with improvised vaporizers such as The Inspirator mkII, or commercially sold vaporizing pipes such as the VaporGenie.

Some methods, such as The Machine, if it's very carefully done, keeping the lighter farther away, one can also vaporize DMT, but due to lack of adequate buffer between the fire and the alkaloids, often will also generate combustion.

Smoking is nonetheless still a popular way of ingesting DMT, and is often done by infusing herbs with the DMT, or smoking in a bong, with the DMT sandwhiched between thick layer of ashes or thin layer of herbs that serve to protect the DMT from fire (though there is still combustion, specially when using herbs).

Dosages are around 20-30mg for efficient vaporization methods, and with smoking methods can be around 50-60mg or even more....
