Is this "good to go"?

I'm using zippo... I can't order from Amazon or eBay or anything to my country. It sucks.

Here's the glass test..

The zippo bottle I'm using and the glass I put it on after about 45sec exposure to some of liquid I poured on the glass(liquid being the zippo fluid)

Here's the bottle..

In the past I used vmp and it was boss. I used Q21q21 tek and got great yields and results. Good white and yellow crystals and they were thick. The second tek was used.

But now that I can't get anything... Would this zippo fluid work? I'd be doing the Freeze percip.

I am fairly new to all this but from my research I have seen several people say to avoid zippo and ronsonol lighter fluid.

Can you obtain VM&P Namphtha? Usually at any hardware store. I have had great results with heptane as well but don't use it as much due to cost. I opt to use heptane for recrystallization only or just pull with it from time to time for fun. There are many solvents that can be used.

For me, my process continues to evolve as I learn and create new interests. I have had several people recommend using d-limonene for extraction and that has peaked my interest.

Good luck!

There shouldn't be any residue left after evaporation. Try to do it again using new cd for example. if you use old one make sure its perfectly clean because the residue left on it may be the dirt from it not from the naphtha. if you have some clean alcohol try to clean it with that and repeat test.

if you still get residue I would be worried. try to get data sheet from your product.

The last time I extracted, I used the q21q21 tek with vmp naphtha and then ronsonol. Besides me fucking up from not covering the dish when freezing... It was great.

Unfortunately country I live in doesn't sell naphtha less than 20L in which you need a license. Besides that, not available.

I brought the naphtha from the first time I visited the states. Here where I live, closest I can get is zippo... :(

Although I'll look into heptane. What's it used for? Can I substitute it for naphtha fully?

I'll look into heptane and limonene.

I'll do that.. Mix could've been just dirty mirror lol. Thanks.

Camp fuel usually has additives in it. Do a evap test on it like mentioned in last few posts to make sure there is no residue left behind before proceeding, otherwise look for a lighter naphtha. Hexane/heptane works well too. Good luck:)

So I'm worried the poor quality zippo I have to use would lead to a less potent or an impure spice. Would that be correct?

I'm using q21's tek with the lime and the (naphtha) and the freezing.

Evap test on a thouroughly cleaned baking dish.
The naphtha will eat away at the plastic on a cd & make it look as if there are impurities if there are not.

Wash a pyrex dish in hot soapy water & then rinse it really well.
Wash it in 91% isopropyl alcohol after that to remove any soap residue.
Rinse well with hot water again.
Cover in clean shirt & let a few small drops evap.

It should come back pretty clean. Oily residue is bad.

This x1000.

Don't use plastics as a substrate to do an evap test with np hydrocarbon solvents lol.

ANY residue is not ok, and really the best way to find clean solvents is to get their msds off the internet (almost always available for whatever solvent you have), then do an evap test to be %100 sure.

The fact that is says in data sheet :

9. Physical and Chemical Properties
APPEARANCE
Clear, green liquid.

is not good. green means something was added to it and that something could be bad

So here's a little added info... A clarification if you will.

I cleaned the glass and I'm still getting this dry kind of imprint left on the glass. It's not oily.. But dry.

I have only access to zippo fluid. The country I live in banned all that stuff and if I want it.. I need a business or a manufacturing license and have to buy a minimum of like 20liters or something outrageous.

I looked for heptane and it's not available.

Through a bit of bribing I can get some limonene... But that'll take about three weeks to come.

So for now, I guess I'll try a sample size... Like 50g of the bark and see what happens.

I'll update in twenty four hours... Giving 18hours for freeze percip and a but of time for me to get some supplies, grind this bark, etc etc.

Again I'm using zippo fluid. I don't live in the states or the EU. Getting shit done here is a hell of its own.

Hope you guys are having a great day.

Peace.

using solvent that you know isnt clean is not a good idea.

can you get sunflower oil?

Yea I figured so... But with what circumstances, I don't see I have another choice. Plus, I've been reading almost every topic made about substituting naphtha with zippo fluid from almost every forum I have ever known of.

The concensus is that if the residue isn't oily, it isn't necessarily bad. People have had a good result(s) from extracting with zippo. And as zippo is international... Shouldn't their ingredients be almost the same if not identical?

Out of curiosity... What can I do with sunflower oil?

I've only ever used q21s tek with the lime and the naphtha and the vinegar.

So I apologize if I don't know the tek consisting of sunflower oil.

I'm curious because this is the first suggestion I've heard that I can also aquire locally. Unfortunately I can't even get lye without a license here where I live.
