Is this the right kind of HCL? with stats

transchem muriatic acid, 3-5 drops per 100ml water for acetone washing?

Yep that is the right kind. Just add acid with mixing until aqueous no longer tests basic, or if you dont have pH paper 1ml of hcl should be plenty.
