Hello my fellow psychonauts, You can call me Dubb, I am from the east coast born and raised, I will be 36 on 4/20 , and I have been using psychedelics for a while but just recently started using them again as a tool in my recovery from the dreaded opiates I have battling an addiction with for far too long, (14 years), I have been through many other attempts at finally deading my addiction and I have never gotten so far until I began using psychedelics again, Small doses of psilocybin everyday or every other day and one or two breakthrough experiences with DMT at night every week has been working for me, I have been learning lessons and have been incorporating them into my everyday life, I always go into my experiences with good intentions and I ask If its ok to return again and always say thank you, not trying to sound quirky or something but I always have the utmost respect for this special magical medicine and the positivity I gain on my journeys while in the deem realms that they allow me to take with me back in this dull reality. Just wanted to introduce myself a bit, I am always as a support or for a conversation for anyone, and specifically I am very interested in helping others who need to talk about their addictions or the progress of their recovery and everything else in between. Thanks for reading and I hope to be a good addition to the community here at the nexus forums. Hope everyone enjoys their day , and be safe!

Hi there @RUN860 , and welcome to the Nexus 🩵

I feel for you in your journey away from opiates. A few people woven into my timeline share your struggle, and I know it’s not easy. So props on striving to take care of yourself :D

A few tips to help you enjoy your time here: we avoid using our real names, so maybe edit that out of your post. Take a few moments to check out our attitude page and familiarize yourself with our community values.

I agree completely that psychedelics can help us heal from addiction. That said, it’s important we don’t swap one vice for another. While drugs like psilocybin and DMT can be intensely healing, using them every single day isn’t the best decision for most people, especially not for a prolonged period of time.

One of the key elements to the healing process of entheogens, or psychedelics, is integration - taking the time to digest and make sense of your experiences, so that they become beneficial and helpful and wholesome in the context of our regular every day human lives. It sounds like you are already spending time consciously doing this; my only kind suggestion would be to perhaps space your doses a little further apart.

Did you yourself extract the DMT you’ve been working with?

The attitude of respect toward the medicine you describe is a good one to hold, in my humble opinion :) many Nexians share your sentiment of magic, divinity, and sacredness toward psychedelics.

Looking forward to hearing more about your healing journey….

Safe travels, and welcome 🖤
Sv

NIce to get aquatinted with you Sv, thanks for chiming in and pointing out some good vibeage skills to keep in mind while bouncing around in these forums, and I completely agree with you reccomendation about spacing about doses and spending that time in between to like reflect and such. You are also right about replacing one substance for another, but I guess the best I could say is that for my case and intentions, I was kind of bland with explaining the actuall amounts of what I was taking and exactly often so for the sake of explaining, I haven't used any psychedelics since back in 2011ish, and it was 2 seperate doses of L, a few medium mushroom doses but nothing heroic , and MDMA at about 5 different raves, and besides a little K maybe 4 different Times, I don't think I left anything out. So anyways from about the middle of 2012 I was engulfed into opiates, starting with pills and then onto the harder stuff, and it was a lot daily, and I also did a lot of other hard drugs and this occured up until about a year and a half ago I have finally got my use down to a minimum and have a lot of thanks to family support, routine, cannabis and psychedelics.

Once I got my dose to an amount which just let me live normally and no longer was chasing the effects, I started seeing the rise of micro dosing and the legality of psychedelics began changing around worldwide. So I started researching and posting and interacting with other people who were either highly educated on the topic with being an addict themselves or are close to one, and I was able to share my expierences and questions about using psychedelics as tools and met many good people whom I never even met but connected wit them via the internet and built many good relationships with them. So once I finally decided to procure some and ever since been taking journeys, and in the beginning I did daily microdose with fungi and then use DMT at night, and it was microdose for 5 days straight or I might of skipped a day or two , it was all about how I felt and what I absorbed, and I forgot to mention that some of these days that I microdosed, I didn't use DMT later that day, it was all about how I felt and what I was reflecting on from the last expierences.

As for your question about extraction, [REDACTED BY MOD] , But I have done the straight to base tek before , I never have grown fungi but another good friend of mine did it quite often in college and I was there for a a few of steps and I also have recently been learning how to do that as well, [REDACTED BY MOD], so I have that to expierence and should have it by the weekend. I will also be [REDACTED BY MOD] doing plenty of extractions, which is another good reason

I am happy to join this community because I know I will have excellent support from the Nexians in the community here. I will always keep that pristine attitude towards these magical substances! Sorry for ranting my ass off, time to check out more stuff on here! Peace

Hello Dubb

welcome to our little chosen familiy.
My knowledge on cubes is very limited (they are pinning right now), but for gourmets and other medicinals the all in one bag kinda suck, so dont be discouraged if it fails <3

On a sidenote, consider paragraphs. it is a bit hard on the eyes without.

Hey what's up, I heard the same about the all in one bags, but hey for my first time and it being a freebie I might as well give it a go, and the guy who makes the products his company also offers spores and everything else too, its a small like 3 person buisness out of Colorado or Cali I believe and he has been a friend of mine prior to anyh business we conducted, and yeah sorry about the masssive rant I went on, haha, I will edit the post and space it out a bit so its easier on the eyes.

So you are doing your first grow now and they are pinning, that must be exciting, and Im here to learn as well so Maybe we ccould share some skills with each other when we get into it! Peace

yeah, im growing cubes for the first time now.
I've focussed on Ganoderma species this far (my profile pic is Ganoderma carnosum) and ive grown oysters and lions mane.
Currentlylooking into the application of fungi in a permaculture food forest with a friend.

there is endless potential for cool stuff with mushrooms.
best luck with your bag, remember to press the substate down after mixing, so that the bag us flush against the substrate, else you will get lots of sidepins (if you even fruit them in the bag).
There are far more experiences cultivators then me on here, from who we can learn.

Also great to hear that you are on a goid trend with your addiction. you're doing great.

mush love

Hello @RUN860 , and welcome! Thank you so much for sharing your valuable perspective on battling addiction with the help of psychedelics. I'm 100% sure your insight will be helpful to someone now or in the future, and am happy to see you contributing to the forum.

As you will notice, I've edited your post a little to remove a few bits, and I would like to reiterate on what @Subtlevibrations said by recommending you read through our Attitude page, and more specifically the No discussion on selling, buying, sourcing, acquiring, pricing, trading, receiving, distributing, mentioning pending deliveries or smuggling of drugs section.

Thank you, and enjoy the Nexus! ❤️

I hear ya, I will do my best to learn and figure everything out, but I am aware that practice makes perfect! That is cool that you are getting into growing your own and figuring stuff out, everyone always starts where we are, Which is obviously the beginning, and we can only get better at it!

Thank you for praising about the progress of my addiction, I appreciate that, its been a long , tough road filled with nothing but road blocks, but I finally hit a fork in the road and took the right turn!! Take it easy!

Thank you for the understanding. This is the kind of attitude we love around here, and I'm sure you'll be a valuable addition to our ever-increasing family of wonderful people!

Dubb,

Welcome to the Nexus. As you can see we really take the Attitude link above seriously. Nexus quite unique - not like other forums, even other drug forums. But, once users figure it out they tend to really thrive here. You seem to be on your way. I for one like to review the Attitude regularly. It is a lengthy document. There are a lot of rules. It is easy to forget.

Having gotten that out of the way, welcome my friend. So many of us here have struggled with opiate and other addictions. And many have found psychedelics to be helpful in their recovery process. I am glad this has been the case for you. I understand your struggle is ongoing and the dangerous nature of the street scene these days. I really, really want you to win this battle for your life in the long run. Your willingness to share and talk about things can only help.

I am glad you signed up and look forward to seeing you around.

Awesome, Im glad to be a positive addition to the community here at Nexus, I always treat everyone with respect no matter where I am or what's the topic of conversation. Everyone has opinions and even more importantly, knowledge to share. Together we can put good use to the information we share, and that's what makes this thing or ours that much more special!

Pandora,
Nice to get acquainted with you as well, I am happy to be here and have access to a community who has similar interests at heart and what not! I did take a look at the attitude page, and your right its pretty heavy, I will be honest I didn't like super study it but I did absorb the general consensus of it and took note of whats allowed and what's not. Most of which I learned pretty much right after my first post on this forum here with the help of another moderator/member kindly correcting my post and sharing the link. I will be returning the page to make often to remain vigilant with my behavior :)
I am very pleased that I was made aware of the benefits of psychedelics when battling an addiction, and its great to hear that many others are finding them helpful as well! The street scene has definitely drastically changed and its become a nightmare for anyone who is seeking out substances (dependent or not) because of the unfortunate toxic supply with these new deadly substances! I encourage anyone who is procuring anything at all, to properly test your substances not once but twice or even three times just to be safe because its not worth loosing your life! I have lost a total of over 30 friends in the past 10 + years, and it was all due to an accidental overdose, because they were sold something labeled as another substance.
Being able to share with others and be there for them makes me happy because I can most likely relate to their story, and have some of my own expierence with dealing with those situations that could be helpful. Winning this battle isnt going to be easy and I have accepted that, anything that isn't difficult , isn't worth it in my opinion, and I do understand that just giving up is very simple and life can get overwhelming and I have given up too many times, and what happens after I give up makes my problem restart and become even more challenging.
I am going to take a stroll through the forums and see if I can add any interesting or helpful replies to something that catches my eye this morning. Take it easy!

Maybe edit the word buying to procuring and your reply will be golden, :D.

I find it interesting that opiates are good at covering up and in particular distracting from pain both physical and psychological but the price we pay is very high. These are drugs that are very hard to stop using.

Meanwhile, psychedelics are good at uncovering our pain, psychological and sometimes physical and offers us the opportunity to view it and process it with a new perspective. These drugs are very hard to use.

This is one reason I love the Nexians with the ones who have struggled (as I as well as family members and friends have) with addiction having a special place in my mind/heart.

I applaud your bravery and your testes-to-the wall fearlessness (or at least willingness to face fears) and do this work.
