just finished first extraction...

Migrated topic.

ok. i did the noman's tek. i adjusted it for 50g powdered bark (i used 1.5x the water). did 5 pulls in all. just finished drying after filtering them out of frezze precip and naptha. ended up with .15 of (mostly) yellow and (some) white fine crystals. is this a fairly normal yield for such a small scale? can take pics if it would help.

No, that's a small yield, but if it's your first time it should be expected.

Did you warm your solvent before you put it in for a pull?

Did you evaporate your five pulls down, or just stick them in the freezer right away?

yes. did warm the naptha. and no i didn't evap...just put them straight in freezer. i think next time i'm just gonna evap them all the way perhaps.

If you did not discard your naphta, you can either reduce it to 1/5th of the original volume or less and freeze-precip again,

or evaporate your naphta completely and re-x the spice.

You may also try to do more pulls, sometimes the usual 3 pulls are not enough.

^^^^^^Right on trickster

Ice, once you have all your pulls together, I think it's easiest just to evaporate your pulls down until the solution is cloudy, or has evaporated by about 30% or so. Then put in freezer, you will have better yields for sure. Honestly, the leftover naptha probably contains a lot of spice that was not allowed to precip out due to too much volume of solvent

Yep.
If you did everything else right, you should have at least another 100mg in the naptha.
It likely didn't precip because either the freezer wasn't cold enough or the solvent wasn't saturated enough.
Did you precip the pulls separately or all together?
It could also be your naptha - some naptha doesn't precip well.
In any case, I'd just evap it all down and see what you get.
