In this extraction towards the end, he takes his extract and puts it in a solution for storage. At that point could someone dissolve the extract into acetone that has been saturated with tartaric acid and then let it evaporate to form a more stable solid? How well would the tartrate salt keep? i.e. sealed in the dark in a freezer

Would this extraction get all the alkaloids from the seeds? Would the other alkaloids be salted when added to the tartaric acid/acetone solution?

I have one more question. If I can't find toluene, can I use a mix of heptane and MEK?
Does anyone know if these solvents would work? From what I know about chemistry and what I've read it should work fine, but I do want to double check. in theory would mek work to extract lsa?

Also for some reason, it's hard for me to get tartaric acid. Would finishing it as lsa citrate be stable aswell?

Basically the same procedure, just use more solvent.

The question regarding solvent is also something I've been wondering. I've got about 1000 hbwr seeds laying around and would like to do an extraction but here in Sweden you can't buy pure toluene anymore. I've got access to naptha but I've heard that there might be some solubility issues and it might not get all the ergolines with it? able to shed any light on that? thanks

Pile of cats i have the same issue, i've tried xylene but with a bit of bad luck, in some days now i might give u a better answere if xylene is something to be used..

Maybe u have figured out something better to use?

Foaf got access only to fumaric acid or ascorbic acid, and he asks himself if could be possible to use one of them instead of tartaric or just the tartaric works good?
