Hey Guys,

I'll plan soon to stop smoking tobacco and maybe weed too.
I tried few times, withtout much convinctions, theses small experiment showed me some weakness to get rid of smoking (tobacco composed mix). Social and work don't help much too this, as friends smoke, as cofee break .. very hard to break the routine.
I need some help the day to don't smoke, like some people need a chupa chups or a patch.
I would like to go the natural aided way, and it seems that kudzu can help weaning.

I would like to know if there are some risk to consume kudzu tea and and harmalas based tea or changa (let's say passiflora tea).
I've read that kudzu help stimulate natural opioid in the brain (like dopamine), can this interact badly with harmalas ?

Cheers guys.

I hadn't heard that about kudzu roots. The leaves make a great salad though. Or as an added green in a salad. Thanks for the heads up. I see that it may have some applications for alcoholism. I have a friend in rehab for alcohol right now. Her husband is wary of her trying psychedelics to treat it, as he has drunk the 12 step cool aid.

After a bit more reasearch, Kudzu & passiflora tea seems a safe combination (in reasonable doses). chamomille can be added to enforce effects and help calming anxiety.
For big drinker / smoker 3g (kudzu) /day in 3 take sould help weaning.

Cheers

An small update after few days.

I drink daily or more that once daily (it depends what i do ATM) and it helps great to don't smoke. When i need a cigaret or tobacco mix, just drink the tea and it's, the need go away.

A mix of herbs is done because kudzu is bitter, there are :

Kudzu
Millepertuis (St. John's wort ?)
Hyssop
passiflora aerial part
chamomilla
burdock

Add honey or brown sugar and it's nice. Few times after i experience a mild stoned feeling.

Cheers

Ge Gen ( pronounced "guh-gun" ), or Radix Puerariae, aka Kudzu root, has been used in TCM for millennia.

Here are the main, known DRUG INTERACTIONS from my favorite reference website for Chinese herbs and traditional herb combinations:

*Use with caution in conjunction with antidiabetics such as insulin, tolbutamide (Orinase), glipizide (Glucotrol) and glyburide (DiaBeta/Micronase) as there may be a synergistic effect.

*Use with caution in conjunction with anticoagulants such as heparin, warfarin (Coumadin) and exoparin (Lovenox) and antiplatelet drugs such as aspirin, dipyridamole (Persantine) and clopidogrel (Plavix) as there may be a synergistic effect.

At our new little herbal medicine shop, we have it in my favorite TCM formulas for flu virus symptoms, especially achy neck & shoulder area, fever and that general feeling of crappiness you feel when you have a full-on influenza viral load going on.
