latex in my resin?!

recently i did 3 pulls on 50g mhrb, it was a thick syrup then i left it overnight for the rest of the water to evaporate. today i decided to just hot water bath it, but when looking at the dish, i used a spoon and pulled out this long flat rubbery plate of goop. im guessing this is sap. but does it matter? its like a piece of cloth made of rubbery goop that i can rip apart, its pink and looks like the syrup... does this matter?

Did you do your extraction in some sort of plastic vessell?

I ran into this problem when using mason jars or plastic jugs that had some sort of rubbery sealant under the lid. Like how a pop bottle has that little rubbery disk thing inside of it to help seal it to the bottle?

if your solvent touches this type of plastic/rubber or similar, it will break it down and it will end up in your product.

i know what youre talking about though. its almost like that clear rubbery adhesive stuff that they use to stick cologne samples into magazines and such. its stretchy, rubbery, and NOT DMT. lol
