libcaps etoh extract weird trip

so, i ran an ultrasonic pull of 4g drypowdered psilocybe semilanceata plus 4g dried hericium coralloides powder, in about 40 ml ethanol 96%, in a vacuum jar. did 4 sessions of 20 minutes each, at 30 °C. before ingestion i added 5 ml of lemon juice and stirred with a latte foamer/mixer for 2 minutes. the pull kickstarted in about 20 minutes. the weird thing was the visuals thou. it didn't looked anything psilocybinian i usualy experience. instead of fractals i was witnesing an animatronic show of some entities i didnt interacted with. also no ego dissolution either. usualy i get that at 3 g dry libcaps.
any ideeas what have i ingested? did psilocybin/psilocin transformed into something else during process? from what i learned, etoh acts as a pharmacokinetic accelerator that could trigger the cns to resist ego dissolution, still, this doesnt account for the changes in the overall visuals

Maybe you were a bit drunk? 40mL azeotropic ethanol is the equivalent of about half a cup of vodka.

Ideally, you'd do a water extract on the mixture as well and make a combined extract. That would likely steamroller you. Ethanol itself isn't that great of a solvent for psilocybin, after all, and the profile of P. semilanceata generally has only a near insignificant amount of psilocin relative to its phosphate ester.

You ought to take into account the neuromodulatory effects of the hericium too. If you haven't compared the plain liberty cap 'sonotincture' (without any hericium) it's hard to pinpoint it specifically, but it doss look like it could make the experience seem a unusual.

I still think the large amount of alcohol will have played at least as large a part here, however.
