Lindsay Lohan used ayahuasca to recover from her miscarriage

Migrated topic.

I would say that where already demonized, widely misunderstood and felonious activities are concerned, any publicity is NOT necessarily good publicity.

I swear to god, the level of rube-like naivete that a lot of our members here exhibit never ceases to shock me.

Thanks for the kind words. Sorry to be such a shocking rube.

She is a person, just like you or me or anyone else. Her faults are just illuminated in the media.

Good or bad, this is happening. I dont think we can say if it's good or bad from this vantage point at this time. It is what it is.

I think ayahuasca has an agenda anyway. Thing are gunna unfold the way they are gunna unfold.

No need for people to stress about it.

Rube, lol. New term for me.

I can't wait till those in governmental positions start following the aya fad. Then it can become law that only congress can use it.

Seriously though anyone that takes aya and comes back with even a slightly better outlook, good. I swear snoop dog took aya and that's why he is now snoop lion.

I also have never heard of this before. What does it mean? Is it a new version of the word "fucktard"?

It means country bumpkin; an uneducated person. It was first made popular in Silence of the Lambs:

"You know what you look like to me with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you’re not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you Agent Starling? And that accent you’re trying so desperately to shed – pure West Virginia. What was your father, dear? Was he a coal miner? Did he stink of the lamp? And oh, how quickly the boys found you. All those tedious, sticky fumblings, in the back seats of cars, while you could only dream of getting out. Getting anywhere. Getting all the way to the F.B.I."

That was all I really trying to say, although I don't believe Hannibal Lecter coined the term.

No particular offense intended.

I don't understand the point you're making. Can you elaborate?

It helps mainstreaming psychedelics.
It helps making them known for their potentially positive effects to a wider audience.
It helps establishing credibility for the potentially positive effects of psychedelics.

I see your perspective. However, if every immature teeny bopper starts downing aya to cure all their self created problems that arise from the fact that they've been brought into a society that is full of anxiety and illusional issues.... It might get messy.

What if they don't take it seriously and do it out in public. Cause a scene, get hurt, come out of it more messed up. Maybe they aren't properly informed about set and setting.

I dunno
I want dmt and aya to spread, but would rather see it spread through friends and knowledge than the eccentric media.

I don't know that I agree with this, but I appreciate you taking the time to elaborate your perspective, obliguhl. :) Thanks!

I took no offense, I just thought it odd to describe someone with a differing opinion as uneducated. I assumed you were referring to Hannibal.

But, as a great example at how easily words can be misunderstood: "although I don't believe Hannibal Lecter coined the term." Point of fact: I said the word was "made popular" in the movie, not that it was coined by Thomas Harris, author of Silence of the Lambs. Words are slippery things.

I will say this. Having aya become more of a comfortable topic due to it possibly becoming more "norm" should help it.

You hear someone say "I got really drunk last night" it just seems like no big deal. A lot of people will react much differently if you said "I took 4 grams of mushrooms and saw god".

Fair enough. I just find the idea of anyone laboring under the assumption that Lindsay Lohan could be ever be used to legitimize or lend credibility to ANYTHING, to be evidence of a certain level of gullibility.

I'll butt out.

Though it's not all blowjobs and puppy dogs: I heard Robin Quivers from the Howard Stern Show (which I don't listen to) had an aya session and reported that she hated it, that all it did for her was make her have diarrhea and vomit hallucinations (sounds like a good time to me!).

It might, or ...it might not. I kinda have a confidence that the stuff can help & change people for the better. Of course, it appears comical to a community of psychonauts to think about fluffy, glossy types drinking the brew. Everyone has to be honest with themselves and wonder how much a general hate for mainstream culture plays a role in this. Afterall, use of psychedelics is regarded as something countercultural, and with it comes a certain level of elitism.

Our game is to heal the trauma which mainstream culture has bestowed upon us. The trauma of not being "right", not "fitting in"...the trauma of having to walk the long walk...the difficult walk, the terrifying walk.

But this does not end with us, it goes beyond "us"...it even goes beyond culture.

One thing I do know, healthy discussions -like we are having - are the best thing that we can do. It helps all of us understand others' perspectives. It's easy to stick to our resignations. I like learning how others feel. It helps me understand

:) I see all of us as healthy contributers to the idea of hope. Voicing our concerns and opinions in a healthy Manor can lead to a more productive culture and counter culture

:!:
Aw man! That's it, I'm done. Dumping all my mckenna books, wiping my hard drive and rescinding my nexian status. Giving my spice jar to that guy who wears his baseball cap backwards that keeps asking me for deems:?: .

I quit being a kabbalist when Madonna tied on a red string, now I'm done with dmt if Lindsay Lohan is a spokesperson:?

Well, aya and DMT are definitely creeping into the mainstream, for gooder or worse, and while I do see you point, obliguhl, it still creeps me out to think that there could be a thousand teenybopper kids wanting to follow Lindsay's lead and have terrible consequences. I don't want to see aya follow some elitist route into more mainstream consciousness, or become the sole province of prescribers, but i don't want to see the horse get shot before it gets out if the gate due to unguided and irresponsible use. Jeez, a few teenagers taking an MAOI with their SSRI or ritalin and the result of that plastered all over the news?

This was in my Gmail alert box last week....( I have no clue who these people are, apparently they are famous )
/katy-perrys-new-man-diplo-violent-dmt-smoking-convicted-criminal.htm:?

I do not think that these things need any celebrity endorsement at all. But if it is inevitable i would prefer it to be someone that we could take a little more seriously. Maybe someone like Ted Nugent. Or a politician...... Sarah Palin?
