Listening to Ozric Tentacles for first DMT experience...

Wow! This has to have been the most enlightening experience of my life. Tight Spin by the Ozric Tentacles, 9 minutes of pure bliss. It's the perfect length, with a nice spacy intro in which to smoke the spice. Then just as it begins to take effect, you get sucked in. The music was playing with me and rearranging my being into different shapes, pulsing with motion, regular dimensions no longer applied. It was alive, the track is an entity in itself, a cheeky consciousness ready to join you in your existence and lift you up, up, up or in, in, in, depending on your perspective. About half way through this song contains a cosmic joke which had me in uncontrollable fits of laughter, the universe laughing with me. And it sets you down gently as it should with a sense of deep understanding and relaxation...

I won't bore you with many details, I'm sure you've seen plenty of long winded trip reports before. But I highly advise listening to Tight Spin on DMT, it's a roller coaster of joy. Don't even listen to the track until you're ready to try this, it might ruin the surprise. I don't think anyone could go wrong with this experience, definitely intense but so happy it doesn't matter This band is completely instrumental so there is nothing to bring you back to planet Earth, pefect for this kind of experience.

Has anyone else been brave enough to take a plunge this deep into the Ozric realm? I'd love to hear some experiences and suggestions of other good Ozric DMT tracks...

Ahh yes I've travelled quite a few times with the Ozrics. 'Akasha' synergized really well with DMT, as did Psychic Chasms. Ozric Tentacles has been my go-to tripping music since my first LSD trip, actually. I love em! They're definitely not very calming if I feel like I'm about to lose my s*&$, though. IME, their music can help me dive deeper into the experience, and add a whole trippy dimension to it. And with album names like spirals in hyperspace?...c'mon :twisted:

Ozric tentacles isnt a band for me, its a religion.

Congrats on having discovered them, and may they take you on many wonderful voyages in the future.

Each album is amazing, and there are many many of them.

Check out Spiralmind, and Waterfall cities on dmt.
Curious Corn is my favorite ablum of all time the whole album straight through, no other music touches it for me, shpongle doesnt even compare.

Other favorite albums are waterfall cities, paper monkeys, erpland, they are all great.

this year is ozrics 30 year anniversarry as a band! Rock into the future!

If you like Ozric Tentacles may I suggest you check out Gong? A similar spirit from an earlier time, in fact it would surprise me very much if O.T. had not listened to them. There are several incarnations of the band, but the earlier stuff from the 70s, and the Teapot Trilogy in particular is what I am thinking of.

I've actually been into Ozric music for a while now, I know their catalogue pretty well. I like Gong quite a bit too, though mostly the albums with Steve Hillage; Angel's Egg and You are my favorites
It's the DMT experience I'm new to, I'm just so happy I chose Tight Spin for my first try. It was like rediscovering the band from a new perspective.
Ozric tracks seem perfectly layed out for a DMT trip. Averaging around 10 minutes each, a whole journey in each one. You could make an amazing hyperspace playlist, choosing which points you want to smoke for. Each person in a room could choose different places in the playlist to whomp down a pipeful. That would definitely make for a fun evening. Of course you'd need a good old heap of the stuff on the table, hehehe…

Is anyone up for helping me create the ultimate Ozric Hyperspace playlist?

Kajex, you tried Psychic Chasm, amazing, how was that? That's high on my list of tunes to try on DMT. It starts off in the happiest place in the world before it takes it's turn, plummeting into the abyss, warpy as you like. I'm sure it'll be hilarious, I can't wait to try it
Akasha sounds great too, perhaps safer than Psychic Chasm, very fluffy. Isn't that the one they did with Steve Hillage?
BecometheOther, Waterfall Cities and Spiralmind are both fantastic choices. I'd love to experience the build up in Waterfall Cities, into the blissful explosion of waterfalling synthscapes. And I'm sure Spiralmind would be a very comfortable ride...

Here's a small addition to the wonderful suggestions that have already been made..

I would certainly recommend "Flying High" (check out "Mountain High", a track dedicated to the spice) and "Global Chillage", both by The Irresistible Force...

From Future Sound of London, the "Lifeforms" double album is a true masterpiece, but I have yet to listen to it during a spice or changa experience...listened to it a million times while on LSD though...

And last but certainly not least, "Cloudwalker II" by Biosphere, one of the most "sacred" tracks in my collection of ambient and down-tempo music...
