look at my goo ;) (question about color)

i used Max Ion as a guide using Acacia Confusca. i'm ok with having a goo mix and not all crystals, i can see a bunch of crystals in the goo. any way as you can see i got two different colors. the more tan colored one i scraped out yesterday, then i refroze the jar and the red colored one i got today.

i don't smell any more naptha. any thoughts as to the different colors, and if one is better or anything?

Interesting. A lot of the people I see using that tek end up with product that looks like yours (various colors). Doing a standard A/B with vinegar and lye I've only ever ended up with a clear goo and/or white crystals.

Have you considered a sodium carbonate wash or a recrystallization to see what it looks like after being cleaned a bit? It is strange to me how different confusa extract can appear.

you know, honestly i didn't even use most of the max ion. it was just the guide. i didn't use vinegar, i used ascorbic acid, i didn't boil it i just let it soak for 4 days. i didn't do the extra salt step. i did defat though, and i used lye.

there were crystals everywhere in the jar, but there was no way to separate them from the goo. since the goo isn't bad, i don't have an issue with it. but i will look into cleaning it.

Next time, SWIM would actually recommend doing the salt out stage. SWIM thinks the ascorbic acid was a good idea, though would suggest using the heat if you can.

SWIM has also gotten results like those, though prefers freeze precipitation over evaporation. Sometimes, SWIM does freeze precipitation for 72 hours at -30C, filters with a vacuum pump filtration setup, than evaporates the filtrate.

SWIM prefers the lighter color, and tends to clean up the darker color product into a lighter product.

Huh, wow. SWIM usually gets a ton of white crystals from the sides of the container, more yellow crystals on the bottom that get recrystallized, than goo from evap, which goes into recrystallization as well.

SWIM always gets lighter color goo on the first pull as well. Each pull gets darker. Depending on the darkness of goo, is what SWIM uses for recrystallization. Darker goo, SWIM uses more powerful things, such as activated charcoal.

Has SWIY tried vaping the different colors?

based on my experience:

I always make my pull very hot from the basic brown tea. the best for this, you put the jar/bottle in your car during a sunny day let it getting hot (don't forget to release the pressure from time to time). This is an no elec solution :thumb_up: and you can reach up to 50°C (put gloves if it's too hot, but I prefer not, so temperature would not be too high)


first I let the naphta cool at room temperature : this give me white crystals
then I make a freeze precipitation : this give a clear / yellow goo
finally you evap the naphta : this will give an orange / brown goo

this should be a way to dissociate compound or not I don't know

anyway all of those compound are potent, you can take them alone or mix them, it's up to you.

For my part still no breakthrough, but the best effects, very colorful, have been with brown goo

Hmmm, perhaps the other actives in the product, other than DMT, could be what give it other color as well? Remember, DMT is not the only thing in there that effects you.

I'm working with acacia simplex which contains also some beta-carboline. this can explain some of my steps in precip or evap.

I read it somewhere on this forum that NMT is becoming brown with prolonged contact at air

For me, the NMT and full spectrum goo is becoming darker:
with air contact
with light: sunlight in particular, I experienced some evaporation at sunlight...goo was becoming brownish very fast!
with manipulation : the most you scrap it or mix it, the most brownish it becomes

Also, lets remember that yellowness is commonly caused by DMT oxidization. Even with this, do you know of an efficient way to possibly dry the goo into hardness?

It helps to leave the goo out on a flat surface and 'knead' the goo with something like a razor blade a few/several times a day, squishing it, spreading it, chopping it - and blowing a small fan on it during all of this.

It helps to get the moisture inside the oils out to the surface so they can evaporate better.

The more times you knead it, with ample time in between kneading-sessions for evaporation to occur, the drier it will get.

This will get you farther from goo and closer to dry wax, or even a waxy grainy powder.


And yellow can be caused by oxidization, but it can also just be oils that were pulled fresh straight from the extraction - which can then turn orange, then brownish orange as oxidization occurs.

In other words you can have a very yellow product without having had any oxidization occur, and it can be absolutely awesome.

True. Do you smoke the yellow stuff often? Personally, I like to avoid yellow due to the taste, and always clean it up into a nice white.

well, i let this thread alone for a couple days and it blew up.

yes, AC does have NMT in it, which does not crysalize, and causes the goo. there are a ton of crystals mixed with goo

after tests. i think the lighter goo may still have some naptha trapped in it. it catches fire if a flame is too close. if manage to not touch it with flame it has a chemically taste as it vapes. still gives desired effects.

the darker does not have any fire issues or weird taste, no taste at all. also makes very nice effects :lol:

so how do i get the naptha out of that lighter goo?

Well, in my experience some yellow is great to smoke and other yellow isn't. I've had yellow crystals from MHRB that tasted delicious and vaporized super smooth; I've had yellow crystally wax from ACRB that vaporizes just a little less smooth, but still tastes good and definitely gives a different experience than pure white I've had from ACRB, and I cherish it; and then I've had yellow goo that smoked very harsh and tasted absolutely terrible.

So it just kinda depends...the harsh stuff, no, I used it once and never again before cleaning it up. But the others...oh yes. I value them just as highly as pure white, and not because they're just as good - but because they're just as good AND have a unique added dimension to the experience compared to the pure white. (which must be other active compounds that came with the oils)
