Hey guys, I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so I hope this is a good place.
I know there's a lot of threads all over the internet about SSRI's and psychedelics. I've studied quite a few, but am looking advice on my current situation.
I am on 3 medications that are known to kill trips; zoloft (ssri), risperidone (anti-psychotic), and klonopin (benzo). I've been on these medications for about 8 years due to fairly severe anxiety and depression. I do not have any psychotic conditions. I was prescribed them at a time when I was going through a particularly rough time in my life. Luckily my doctor is slowly lowering my doses so I am very slowly tapering off of these meds. That said, I doubt I'll maybe ever be in a situation where I take no psychiatric meds. Anxiety and depression is hereditary in my family and medication and therapy has helped, but nothing makes it go away completely.
So here's my situation: despite knowing that psychedelics will be greatly reduced or ineffective because of my medication, I've still tried tripping just to see if it would work. I know that's not the smartest thing to do, but I tried anyway. I've tried LSD, 1P-LSD, 4-ACO-DMT, and ALD-52. None of them had any effect on me. Well...the LSD and 1P-LSD did have a strange effect on me, but I wasn't tripping or seeing visuals or anything like that. In fact, it kind of felt like I took a very strong edible.
Anyway, I guess I'm looking for advice on two things: Would vaping dmt even work on me?
and since I'm in a position of changing my medication with my doctor, is there something I could suggest that may not block the effects of psychedelics?
FWIW, I'm not interested in tripping for any partying type reason, I'm very interested in the healing and spiritual aspect of dmt. Also, not sure if this matters, but I do use weed almost every day.
Any advice would be appreciated.
