LSD Camera Trick(using camera flash)

Ok so I used to do this sometimes after eating acid when i was younger and it was alot of fun.

I have a couple questions about it.

A) Has anyone else ever done this?
B) Is there any inherent danger?

This is the trick.

Requirements: Pitch black room with no windows and a camera with a flash. (you cannot use a digital camera unless you can turn the screen off as you only want the split second of light that is created by using the flash)

1) Eat LSD
2) Begin to trip
3) Go into pitch black room with camera in hand
make sure that there is no light seeping into the room. no windows, cracks under the door, etc..
it has to be pitch black
4) position yourself however you feel comfortable.
If you are standing please be aware that this is going to be really strange
and you might lose coordination momentarily.
5) Set off the flash on your camera(keep flash in a position so it is not going off
directly into your eyes. I usually hold it off to the side)


The result: Basically in the instant that the flash goes off, it will imprint the image of everything around you into your brain for like 30 seconds. For example: You are in the dark room. You are 5 feet away from the wall, facing it. You set the flash off. When the room returns to dark, you still see the frozen frame image of the wall in front of you. You take a step towards the wall, yet the wall moves with your step and remains 5 feet away from you. I wouldn't recommend doing that specifically as it is pretty disorienting but i'm just trying to give an example and clearly explain the effect.

It can be fun to do this with a friend when you are in that giggly stage of LSD. You can make goofy ass faces and when the flash goes off you will have the image of your goofball friend imprinted into your brain for 30 seconds or so. I know it sounds dumb, but it always cracked me up and we would try all sorts of positions. Like bend down and touch your toes and have someone set the flash off. Then stand back up. lol. Why does it still look like you are touching your toes??? WEIRD... giggle giggle...

I really have no idea if there is any real danger in doing this other than possibly falling down if you get a little too squirrely. I really doubt it unless you are flashing directly into your eyes, and quite honestly if you are doing that then you have bigger problems than the possible side effects. haha. I've personally never had any negative side effects from it. But i wanted to share and see if anyone else has ever experienced this or might have any input on the subject. Its a pretty cool little quirk of LSD. I've never tried it with mushrooms or any other hallucinogen but i know that it works with LSD.

I like this idea! For me LSD is mostly an introspective solo journey, but I will definitely keep this in mind when tripping with my more "goofball" friends! Thanks for the idea!

I tend to agree. Most of the time i'm either by myself or with my tripping buddy and we focus on meditation, relaxation, and try to come back with as much as possible from the experience.

I haven't actually done this flash trick in YEARS. Probably 8-10 years to be honest. But i was thinking about it for some reason and wanted to share because I have yet to come across anyone who has mentioned doing anything similar since i did it at 18-19 years old.

Plus i'm sure that there are times where we all focus more on enjoying our time with our friends than trying to find the key to the universe. This is a fun and unique little thing to do during those times. : )

I like to meditate and sit in silence too, but one of the great things about L is the bonding experience between friends by going through the LSD trip together. This sounds like great fun, I've been eating some LSD with some friends who are quite new to it and still just love to get giggly and grin without being so serious. This sounds like an awesome hat trick for that occasion.

It already even works the moment you wake up right away from a dream and go to the toilet to pee but you accidentally press the light switch for a split second and turn it off instantly(like a flicker). BAM you have a rainbow toilet ingrained in your head for 4seconds. pretty cool stuff. This definitely works.

Yep it works pretty profoundly while on LSD. I'd like to know what the scientific explanation is for this effect and why it is so much more effective while on hallucinogens. considering that you don't actually see with your eyes, but with your brain... i find it interesting that the image lingers around for so long. I really hope to hear from some folks after they have tried this.

All this talk is reminding me how long its been since i've had a good long journey!

I really need to get my syrian rue extraction done and try some pharma. I have yet to try it out and i just haven't had the time lately to make it happen. I only have about 100 grams of MHRB bark left to extract and i think i only have about a 1/4 g of deems left that i've been hanging on to for a while now. Smoked all my changa too, so i don't have much of anything!

I do have some good cacti but it will be next fall before i can really do anything with those. Its been a good while since i've had a good trip. I'm well over due for one!
