Lungs feel terrible after smoking changa

Migrated topic.
I just made a new batch of changa and tested it out using a small pipe (lost my bong). I smoked about a bowl of it in the morning and it felt very harsh. Now, about 8 hours later, my lungs still feel terrible. I have asthma occasionally and smoking the changa triggered it. My lungs feel very tight and there is still an irritated painful sensation when I take a deep breath. I used to smoke weed a lot and even after a night of smoking my lungs don't feel this bad.

I was wondering if this type of reaction is common or do you think that maybe there are still some residual solvent or lye in my changa?

Personally, smoking changa or DMT is very harsh for me.. Combustion process of anything really, generates several byproducts which are toxic. I would really really advice you find a vaporization method instead of a smoking method. The GVG is really the way to go IMO, but if you cant afford that, you should look into other vaporizers which use convection (hot air) as the way to heat and that have a heat buffer, like for example the Inspirator MKII from amorfati which you can build yourself.

Good luck, let us know if your lung gets better and if you find some better way to use these substances

I would suggest you don't smoke it any more especially if you have asthma, read on vaporizing DMT if you are interested in plain freebase. At proper vaporization temperatures the vapor is very smooth.

Thanks for the replies! My lungs are feeling better than yesterday (no more asthma), but they are still feeling painful and tight. It'll probably be back to normal in a few days. I'll have to look into vaporizers. I don't want to spend too much since I'll only be using it for DMT/changa, but the Inspirator MKII looks interesting and cheap to make. Strangely, when I was going to sleep yesterday I started to develop flu like symptoms. Achy muscles and the chills. The symptoms are still there today, but a little less so. Hopefully it's just a coincidence and nothing serious.

Don't save money if you have asthma... You will need a vaporizer that allows proper temp adjustment. I'd get the GVG but if you vaporize very rarely then I would get the CARVED wooden vaporgenie. The carved one doesn't have the aluminum connector piece that gets heated in the mix. You will also need torch lighter and copper or stainless steel scrubber mesh to make a screen. Then just vaporize at proper temperature and you should get very smooth vapor, might take practice first
