SWIM did an extraction about a month ago and still has some left over water/lye/root bark mix stored in the mixing jar that he wants to try and now pull with D-Limonene to make Jungle Spice. BUT is the mix still good? Is there a certain point where it goes bad?
Thanks :)

I know from experience that your basic slurry is good for a very long while. I have brought back extractions that sat for over a year and still pulled plenty of goodies from it.

I recomend shaking it well, making sure that your basic solution is a slurry then add the solvent.

If youre basic slurry still containd N,N DMT when you left it, it still contains it now. Getting it out will be as easy as it was when you left it.

Ohhh slurry is what it's called haha
Well hell yeah, that's great news!
Appreciate it :)

Just be careful storing the jar and handling it after because you are storing such a basic solution in there for a long amount of time causing etching of the glass. The glass could break much easier on you or your house, and lye burns are not cool!

Wow, had not thought about that!
Thanks for the warning, this is definitely good to know.
Sounds like it would be better not to store it then so you're not taking a risk or damaging your jars!

Or don't store it in glass.
I had one shatter on me just from setting it down on a concrete floor. Bottom dropped right out.
I'd definitely transfer that slurry to another container before working further with it.

Geez, that's scary to think about.
Sounds like a good idea, thanks for looking out!
What kind of container would you suggest?
