'Machine' -- Not able to vaporize the entire dosage in one go or few hits

I had loaded 40mg in my machine, and had the most intense DMT experience I've ever had. I'm very pleased with how well it works. I'm pre-melting it and doing everything right. However, after I smoked it all and came back from hyper-space and sobered-up, I realized that I had not taken all of it. I inhaled once again what seemed to be a pretty significant amount of spice that was still left on the machine, that would have gotten me quite far if it weren't for my tolerance.

Today I loaded 10mg on the Machine, and I'm impressed that I couldn't take it all in with just one hit. I had to take one or two more to get the entirety of it in my system. I don't mind this, of course. But I'm curious if it is possible to do this in a more efficient manner? I take the E-mesh method as a comparison. That thing is one hit. It's quite beautiful, really. Why do I need so many hits with my Machine?

Hey, I'm an exclusive machine user for about 10 years (minus a month or two of lightbulb-pipe failures )

Some of the things I say may be debatable, but I'll just give my experience/opinions.

What I can tease you with is to note that I have no problem smoking 30mg smoothly off a machine-bong in 1 toke, promise!

The simple one-hitter with machine is alright, but 95% of my experience is with a machine in a bong. Honestly any bong that smokes weed smoothly will do DMT off a machine no problem. If you don't have one, they are fun and easy to make (Google DIY bong).

I don't recommend doing weed and DMT at the same time, but I don't smoke weed at all so I may be biased.

In my experience, you CAN'T burn DMT on a machine to the point that it doesn't work. You CAN make it so hot the smoke hurts your lungs, but you have to really torch that little ball to make it happen.


How I smoke it is:
I use a torch lighter and place it directly on the machine ball while toking for about 1 second, then take it off for about 2 seconds, then back on for 1-2 seconds. A lot of people prefer "feathering" the flame on it, but for me that's just a little too complicated.

I just continue the on-off with the jet lighter toking smoothly, adjusting how long I place the flame based on any urges to cough (flame on the ball longer if no urge, longer off the ball if a large urge)

When there seems to be less some coming off of the machine, I torch the shit out the ball until it's red to make sure I got everything off of it. Then just clear the bong and hold it until I'm in hyperspace (or sub-hyperspace depending on dose)
Edit: quickly reading over my post, this torching-til-red might be a part people would chime in on not to do for safety/health reasons. Happy to hear from those about whether this is safe or not.

Anyway, this is just a ramble from a machine fan-boy, hope it helps.

Besides the already given sounds advice by q21q21, couple more hints:

1) Practice sucking in air slowly through machine, don't rush it, time it in your head if necessary. You should be able to do 15-20 seconds of inhaling air slowly through pursed lips.
2) Tip machine nose with mesh slightly downwards when using, so that spice has harder time escaping in the depths of the mesh.

From my own experience (depends on a lot of things of course), but doses in range 10-20mg are easily cleared in one hit, even by unexperienced users after my explanation and me handling the torch.
Doses 20+ typically need 2-3 tokes to make sure you have it cleared.

The way I do it is pretty simple, reliable and I don't even cough at all:
1. Clear my lungs completely of air
2. Mouthpiece in mouth, torch that little steel ball and start sucking air in slowly (after it had already fully melted ofc)
3. Continue this with the torch on the SS ball for as long as possible (I never cough and it never gets too hot for me, so I don't need to keep taking it off and on again multiple times like you described... I just keep the torch there.)
4. When lungs are almost completely full, (maybe 80%-90% capacity) I remove the torch and let the rest of the heat evap the melted spice as I hold it in till 100% capacity (making incoming colder room air cool the mesh)
5. Hyperspace. The SS mesh should be cool enough to not waste spice

I think this technique is perfect, so it really isn't about the method, but rather the Machine itself and thermodynamics. I'm impressed that you can take 30mg in one go. Could you show me your current Machine, or a close-up picture of the mesh?

Also, 30mg may be slightly less due to my measuring based on evaporated full-spectrum acetates. Especially hearing about other's difficulties doing more than 20mg in one hit.
