SWIM is very interested in the sublingual salvia experience...all the teks found use whole leaf, but curious if one could be made from a 10-15X extract, and what that process would be.
For some reason sublingual dry extract doesn't work well. But dried leaves works well.
I would think that using an extract to make a tincture would be a waste fro sublingual administration.
It seems like not only salvinorin A is responsible for the effects to work sublingually.
That's the reason why we always start with a bag of plain dried leaves.
Extract it in ethanol, filter, re-xtract with eth, filter, combined in a jar.
Dilute it with water just before sublingual administration in order to avoid "burningmouth synsdrome".
Sublingual salvia is the sweetest experiences with this plant IME.
A bit more dedication is needed to achieve good effect = meditative state.
I've considered making a tincture using a standardized extract, just so that I could get a handle on the dosage... menthol (from a mouthwash) is apparently effective in overcoming the absorption problem.
There need more experiment eventually. It's good to try but there are concern about salvinorin efficiency directly sublingually.
A test has been done also intra nasally insufflated salvinorin alpha crystals which result in a strong need to do things, almost like some other infamous substance from SA.
Quite weird that is ....
I think there's a limit to how much Salvinorin ethanol will hold, isn't there? Otherwise you could make much stronger tinctures.
I very much agree that the tincture experience is much more useful in a shamanic sense. If you have a clear question you need help with in your mind as you go into the experience, you will be led through a series of experiences/visions which will clearly show you what you need to understand.
Much thanks and respect to this miraculous plant! 8)
Maybe dissolving the extract in water right before the experience would create a suspension of goodies.
But again I doubt it would be enough.
I'll try and do some more experience about liquid salvia extract for sublingual uses.
The other problem is the effects are some unpredictible.
From light meditative state (which could easily due to the setting) to highly magical visions.
