Making aya with powdererd vine

I have a question about making aya with powdered vine. It seems like it would be very hard to filter out the powder from the washes. It seems the tshit material would seem to clog very quickly. I also end up with lots of sedimentation anyway.

Does anyone have any better suggestions for filtering the powder out of the washes?

dont bother trying to filter just decant it. put the wash in a large mason jar in the fridge over night. it will be all separated in the morning. pour off the liquid and add more water the the sludge for the next boil. works like a charm for anything powdered.
this is how i have to do my mhrb because its powdered. it would take all day to filter it.

go get em tiger.

Thanks for the advice guys. If time is limited and overnight sitting of washes is not an option, would putting the washes in the freezer allow for decanting faster(within an hour or so?)

Also, THP sounds nice but that only works fro caapi and not chacruna right?

freezing will be a bit faster but you loose a lot of potency. ive written a few different reports of this happening. in my experience i will never freeze precip again.

if time is limited i suggest you don't try to extract stuff.
You can't rush extractions, things need time to separate, crystallize, filter etc.

The one thing i learned is that the more i rush the worse my yield gets in the end.

What size jar do you all prefer for the herbal percolator?
What do you mean? I use a 1 liter HDPE Isopropyl bottle as my percolator and the aqueous solution is poured through the percolator into a 1 quart mason jar. Usually, while boiling the water for my next percolation, I re-filter the already used/hot water back through the powdered material anywhere from 2 to 8 times (depends on how long the next water takes to boil/the color of the brew I'm looking at). I use 200 ml/g and from the experiment I did a while back, seem to exhaust my bark pretty darn thoroughly.

It works for all plant material and would make overnight sitting irrelevant...I'd read up on it if I were in your position.

I read the THP thread and it says that it's still debated as to whether it works for chacruna or not. Something about the water not being hot for long enough .
Has any more been figured out on this?

Could someone mix the powders together int he THP setup to create aya, or would it best be done separately and combined?
