MDMA after Harmalas - how long to wait?

Hi there - I need advice. A friend of mine (truly a friend, not me) has had 40mg of Harmala alkaloids (from rue) as part of a rectal DMT session. However he is set to receive PTSD trial treatment in a clinical setting with 100mg medical grade MDMA some forty hours after taking the harmalas. He didn't know there was possible interaction risk, although he should have been warned, etc. Anyway, he doesn't want to spoil his session and probably won't tell his doctors. I will do my best to persuade him to postpone, etc. and if I exert enough force he will probably listen. However I want to be clear for myself of the current consensus on RIMA's in this context. Whatever knowledge I have tells me that the Harmalas should basically be out of his system by then, especially since this was a relatively small rectal dose. I remember that RIMA's half life should be something like 3 hours, right? What is the current consensus on that?

P.S. There is no point stating the obvious - i.e. that any risk is not worth it. I know that well and will do my best. I just want to have my facts straight.
 
40mg is such a small amount of harmalas, and 40 hours between a dose of harmalas that small and MDMA administration should be enough time. I wont recommend anything here and I am not giving advice. I have, however taken MDMA 48 hours after an ayahuasca experience with full vine doses and experienced no negative effects that I could detect.

Thanks Jamie, this kind of input I was looking for. It corresponds with my own experience as well. It seems that he managed to postpone it with one more day, so all is fine in any case. Appreciate the info!
