Measuring without a scale?

My friend has 50mg of iron filings from his magnet hobby. He knows that it is exactly 50mg. He has an unknown amount of spice (with impurities but lets not consider that). How can he measure out 50mg of spice? He has two ideas.. find mass of iron filings and mass of spice molecule and then "eyeball" an amount of spice that would be 50mg relative to the iron filings. So if iron is 2x as heavy as spice, then my friend would make a pile of spice double the pile of iron filings. Another idea he had was to rig up a balance but he's not sure what to make the balance out of, being these are very light weights he is dealing with.

you can get a milligram scale for like 20-30 bucks on ebay. Accurate enough for what you are using it for. Other then that, Here is a 60-65mg dose laid out on a dime. It will give you an idea. IMO is totally unnecessary when dealing with spice. Tap out a hefty pile in a normal size bowl piece between layers of parsley and smoke until you dont know whats happening and consensus reality starts to crystallize before your... what are eyes? what's this thing in my... oh my god. Now when dealing with research chems you obviously NEED to invest in a mg scale.

I underdosed pretty much every time before i realized why i wasn't getting the effects i had read about, lol. It helps a ton. Not needed much anymore...eyeballing it is easy to do after awhile, lol

i also have one of those scales, it works fine. beware though, my friend bought one and it was WAY off. he had to send it back to get a new one.

yeah i dont use my scales anymore when i measure out dmt to smoke cause i just feel better piling on more than i need and then hitting it till i cant. after a few times you get an idea of how much you wanna chuck in your cone.

hahah i have the same scale that the one in the link above. For the price, it works great! But woulndt trust it for diamonds. This scale is nice, but ( or course) not like the expensive ones. But damn, stop messing arround with dimes and quarters. The scale in the link cost the price of 3 to 4 pints of beers at a pub.

I'm totally with Mardybum on this one as far as DMT is concerned, however these scales come in very handy with other substances I'm researching.
