Mesc Carbonate wash

Migrated topic.
I dont think many people have played with carbonate salts so you might not get much response on this. Personally I prefer to wash them with gastric acid.

After furthur research, it was determined that MEK is the best way to purify mesc carbonate. Btw, washing used limo with carbonated water is a great way to retreive mesc salts left in the solvent.

i wonder if carbonate will crash out of concentrated solution/mek or acetone like some other forms will?
(dissolve into smallest amount of water possible, add mek and freeze)

Carbonate crashed out of MEK just like acetate does. Went from tan to white, also remove traces of limo.

hrm, interesting idea, dg. I think the biggest obstacle is the fact that carbonic acid at low ph will spontaneously and fairly rapidly reorganize as water and co2, letting the co2 largely escape as gas. Maybe it would work if you tried to crash them in a very co2 rich environment?

Also, I don't know about the water solubility of carbonate salts as a function of temp... a geologist who studies caves might know.
