Mescaline Acetate -> HCL Conversion Question

Hello! Does anyone know whether mescaline acetate dissolved in anhydrous acetone could be mixed with anhydrous acetone + HCL in order to crash out pure mescaline HCL, or is it necessary to dissolve the acetates in water, add dilute HCL, and re-evaporate?

This will convert the acetates to hydrochlorides.

Thanks, House. I guess my question was more whether the mesc HCL would crash out of acetone or not. It seems like that might save a purification step later, if so.
