For 69ron's D-Limonene Mescaline Extraction would it matter if the calcium hydroxide I use isn't food safe?
I bought hydrated lime but the only kind I could find says it's not edible.

depends.. its very possible it works for extraction fine, and the 'not edible' might just be a warning that doesnt necessarily mean it has something nasty in it but, unless you can find more info on what possible impurities it has, there's a risk, an uncertainty associated to using it... what if the impurity is something that reacts with or is soluble in non polar solvent and ends in your final product? If I were you I would keep trying to find some food safe one, and/or try to find more info on this specific brand you got, what it might have inside of it. But do as you wish :)

(and yeah, good questions from touche guevara)

It's Bonide Hydrated Lime
Calcium 34.20%
Magnesium 20.40%
Minimum Calcium Oxide 46.50%
Minimum Magnesium Oxide 32.00%
Calcium Carbonate Equivalent 131.70%
effective neutralizing value 129.52%
Derived from calcium hydroxide
lime score 130.38
that's what the bag says, and it's meant for soil

My package on it said "Edible Lime - Not for Human Consumption" or something similar, I was sure to order food grade though.

Don't really know the answer to the question though :P
