I'm not at home, and don't have the usual steel bowl I use for my extract. If soaking mhrb in heavily baseified water is it safe to use a plastic bowl. Need about 2 litres, was thinking about washing up bowl which is here but wondered if caustic soda then naptha might take in some of the material leading to a poor quality extract.

Thanks in advance.

thanks, bookmarking some sites now with lookup tables. But what If I don't know. Currently got here:

1 stewing pot, pottery with a glaze.
1 plastic mixing tub, no description of material
1 large tub held to hold sweets that says microwave/freezable and re-use me (I'm guessing they didn't have DMT in mind, but to each their own 😉 )

usually use a stainless steel bowl that is always fine, then a glass sep funnel (now broken) and a glass pyrex oven dish. I'm only using lye and naptha to extract this time around. The bowl has to hold the lye on the MHRB overnight.

Was going to use a homemade sep funnel (plastic bottle with a hole) or pour off the solvent for an evaporation on pyrex, which is here.

Thanks.

Do not use anything that's plastic unless you are 100% sure it's HDPE. Go to the supermarket and get a gallon of distilled water or something (and make sure it's a #2, HDPE jug). Use that instead of any unknown plastic containers. Do NOT make a hommemade sep funnel with a plastic bottle, that is an awful idea. Both the lye/mhrb solution and the nps you use will eat away the bottle and/or cap, contaminating your product with plastic and/or causing you to spill basified mhrb solution and nps all over your extraction area.
