Milky white vs. golden yellow pulls

i am wondering why some pulls are milky white and some are a deep yellow when doing thick-light's ac.conf. A/B tek.
is the color possibly an indication of purity or quantity?
when exhaling lightly on either, the alks. fall out in a quite mesmerizing way :)
can someone help me understand the difference in color?

also, my yellow pulls no longer crystallize upon freeze precip, but instead leave a pile of alkaloids in the bottom of the jar... a big pile.
if my solvent is too saturated will it not form xtals but instead just all fall to the bottom?

attached is a photo of the freeze precip. i am working with, and a penny for scale.
(the tape marks the level i evaporated from before the freeze precipitation)

what is the best way to isolate this and get it to dry out all the way?
any info is great.

peace and love :)

Don't worry, people just either didn't feel like responding or didn't have time to. Your etiquette is fine.

I don't really know the tek but I can tell you what I know and it might help. When doing pulls with hot naptha into a room temperature solution then as soon as your nap gets mixed with the solution its going to do 2 things. 1. Grab as much alkaloid as it can hold, and 2. Decrease in temperature. I assume the milky white pulls are your first and maybe second pulls. This is because your naptha is super saturated with alkaloids and is cooling. When a solution is super saturated it gets cloudy. Your 3rd, 4th, and other pulls are your yellow ones, correct? This is due to polar migration. The plant oils have had time to migrate into the naptha. The reason it does not get cloudy is because it is not as saturated as your first pulls. So then your final question about freezing your yellow naptha... If it is froze too quickly then your alkaloids will not join together and form crystals and will rather just fall out instantly. As for it being yellow goo, you need to dry it more and it will harden.

Hope that helps. :)

Yep, the yellow is non-DMT stuff. (oil)

If you're interested in turning the results from your yellow pulls into white crystal, here's a guide: FAQ - DMT Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting Guide - DMT-Nexus Wiki

Although I hear the yellow/tan/orange stuff can give a different experience than pure white crystal and is just as desirable, but different, due to other psychoactive alkaloids that (may) get pulled along with the oils.

thank you all. i did finally get it to dry out some..

i had been combining my white and yellow pulls before freeze precip, i think i'll try them separately next time. i kept the mix warm the whole time, and sometimes my first pulls were very yellow also.

this is the first time i've seen xtals like these... usually they're more 'needle-like'.

the experience is nothing short of fantastic.

after about 12 days it looks like this.. (still not dry, hard to photograph)

Ah - if you want to get it even drier, it should help if you scrape it up some and sort of...knead it...for lack of a better word. Doing it a few times a day would be good. It will help get the moisture that's trapped within the oil out to the surface so it can evaporate. The more ya knead, with ample time for evaporation to occur in between kneading sessions, the better.

I don't know if it's that important to you, but wanted to mention it just in case.

And yeah, definitely try them separately :)

hello mantis12

that extract looks pretty dirty, did you suck up some of the based soup?

I would try to clean that up before consuming, you don't want to be vaping any based mix.

Some of the yellow in confusa will be NMT, a nice bonus alkaloid.
The plant oils I have seen lit at a low temperature so burned anything in close range, you could dissolve all the actives in vinegar and defat with hot sunflower oil, then rebase and repull. Also the NMT will be saved :D

i didn't get any base in it, i just left it sitting in the garage uncovered and some tiny bugs crawled in for their last swim.
bugs like the naphtha, i think.
