Did the crystals just "fall off" the bakingpaper? No offence, I didn't quite understand that.

I'm doing the same as you right now, so later tonight I will take it out and to what you did here, that's why I'm asking

The crystals cluster together on the baking paper, so after i pour off the naphta through the coffee filter some of the crystal will come with the naphta but most of its sticks to the baking paper a little bit. If you take baking paper out and hold it above the coffee filter (with the crystals facing down now), gently smacking the baking paper will cause most of the crystal to fall into the filter. This will get most of the crystals out.

I then put the baking paper back into the jar and place it under a fan for 30-60 minutes. After that the remaining crystals will be dry on the baking paper and can be added to the crystals in the coffee filter.

This last part is a bit tricky because the unfolding of the baking paper will cause the crystals to bounce all over the place, but if you do it carefully, you can get them all into the filter.

This is often coated with silicone, which WILL dissolve into your naphta, which isn't really nice.

No that isnt nice indeed. Is there any way of checking this ?

If it dissolves into the naphta and not mix with the crystals, then its ok. But i don´t want silicone coated crystals.

I'm not really sure. There are so many types of parchment paper nowadys. I don't know if the producers must write it on the package.

As a simple test you could just try and see if you can scrape something off, of it. If you can, this doesn't mean this is silicone. It could also be wax or other stuff. But I'm nearly sure that one can buy uncoated parchment too.

I also checked the paper that i´ve used for several freeze preps and the surface is just as smooth as new paper, so i think i´m ok.

But it´s a good point to keep in my mind when looking for bakingpaper for extraction purposes.

I think the white crystals are overrated, the bright yellowish JimJam DMT is what you want. Either by pulling with Xylene (verdunner) or heating the naphtha with the solution.

When using xylene I would salt out the solution with at least vinegar.

I'm really starting to wonder if I got fake bark ore something else because all my yeld got zero spice. I put the glass in the freezer 10 hours ago, when I checked it carefully I saw nothing, still freezing it. The same happened with my 2 first pulls as well. I have all the correct items and following Cyb's tek step by step perfectly. I can see you got skills in this, and maby you have some tips for me? Getting confused :shock:

Thats unnice. Is the freezing liquid getting milky ? Was it yellowish after pulling it from the soup ?

What did your bark look like ?

Thanks for the tips AMS. Is it easy to get pure Xylene (verdunner) where we live ? Is that the same as terpentine ?

How exactly does that salting out work. It may look like i know what im doing .. but i just sort of know what im doing and i do that very precisely.

I wanted to do the q21q21 lime/vinegar extraction tot get the jimjam, but i wasn´t sure if d-limonene and/or pure xylene would be easy to get around here.

Nope, it stays clear during the hole freezing process, and after pulling it from the soup it was also clear. But my 3 pull got a little light yellow /That's the one I have in the glass). I have ordered some new mhrb from a different source now.

Yellowing is NOT an indication of dmt at all, but I've found that if it doesn't gain any yelllowing then it probably isn't basic enough. But if he did 1.2l, 80, and 80, he should be fine.

Okey, when I pulverized the bark it turned brown as it shows on the picture, no reddish signs to see. Just checked my glass now after 15 hours , nothing in it, absolutely nothing except some impurities . I gonna take a break from this project and wait for some new bark I think. :?

Im sorry this wasnt a succes for you, but never forget that you learn most form your errors and failures.

Try to figure out what the bark is. Maybe you can exract something from it in some other way.

I am now also extracting alkoloids from Caapi to mix with the spice into Changa. Can´t wait till thats finished !

That's so true, I learned a lot, and now I'm prepared for the next time.

I'm following your progress everyday every hour, I'm like a swamp on this forum, so much to learn, and so many interesting things. Looking forward to see the results whether I don't know much about Caapi and Changa yet.

Living, I just noticed your pic. That is NOT mhrb. MHRB is purple-ish. It will be pink/magenta in acid solution and blackLdark brown in a basic solution.

Well that would be impossible to say by looking at a picture.
Your other thread said it was marked betula albosensis (a Chinese red birch, named for its deep red bark.)...perhaps that's what it was?
Chalk it up to experience and hopefully the next batch will be a nice one
