Mimosa Hostilis STB extraction report

Migrated topic.
I think what he's essentially saying is that it doesn't need to be mixed by flipping and agitating as it would a jar. By stirring your just lightly mixing to the preventing a mass of emulsion.

I asked the question in a new thread and it seems the naphta has to be thoroughly stirred through the goo, just like in case of stb. The naphta will then come to the top again.

But this does not at all go as easy as with the stb tek. It´s a pretty messy tek in my opinion .. but that could be coz its my first try ;)

I did yield a few crytals. And what is noticable is that the naphta is much cleaner when extracted. So clean that i initially thought i got 0, but after some freezing, crystals turned up in the bottom of the jar again.

It also didn´t really turn milky (the naphta), but this could be because not many crystals were in the naphta.

That is why. The milky is due to saturation. Less saturation, less milky.

And yea. After I read that post I felt a little bit stupid for not realizing that what he ment.

It does sound incredibly messy. That's why I never wanted to try a dry tek.

The big advantage seems to be that the spice is cleaner in the end. So that also explains why the diamond crystals are more pure.

Im going to try and perfect this proces, just for the hell of it, to see if that produces the diamond crytals.

He says they fall out of the solvent that way.
I wonder if they make a sound then ;)

I think i figured out what i did wrong with the lime tek. All my solvent was completely dissapearing in the goo because the consistency was much to watery. I´ve been adding lime and miraculously all the naphta started re-appearing. So yet another lesson learned.

The goo needs to be a little dry-ish, without it being bone dry.

The extracted crytals are really white btw.

Why is the lime acid tek so much cleaner then stb ?

CHANGA !! :)

That certainly does look delicious. Lol.

And its better because none of the plant oils cross over from the acid boils. It allows you to extract the alkaloids without any of the yellowing.

I did cook the caapi leaves in order to make 10X leaf. That turned very gooey and brownish in the end.

The salad also smells very nice.

It tastes like spice however when smoking, I never really know if i like that taste or if its disgusting ;)

I've never seen this baking paper trick used before. On my pulls i use 2 small Pyrex baking dishes, once it has freeze evaporated some of the spice is caught in the corner and is difficult to scrape off so I think I will try using some baking paper and see if it works.
