Mimosa STB extraction, quick solvent layer separation

Hi, following Noman's tek and this guide here for a mimosa straight to base extraction

using low odor white spirit instead of naphtha (c7 to c9, n alkanes, isoalkanes, cyclics, aromatics <2percent), is it normal to get the solvent separating in just a minute?
... On the thread that I linked to it says it takes 20 minutes to see the two layers separated

Also there is that thin layer of bark-water-lye solution that sits on top of the solvent layer and is quite annoying while trying to separate the two layers.

any way to avoid forming that layer?

Do an A/B instead and strenuously filter out all particulates.

Realistically, just leave that small emulsion layer in and repeat the pulls a few more times. Losses will be minimal.

You might want to look at getting a better extraction container, plastic is NOT GOOD.
