I get the same exact thing. I feel like the barriers in my brain are broken down and the subconscious can merge with conscious reality, resulting in... very vivid daydreams 
I find this effect very useful in music and so on rare occasion I will take a sub-perceptual dose of DMT while I work on a new piece to help develop my interpretation. I find it also enhances my technical faculties. I've been considering trying mushrooms to microdose and prolong this effect so it can span over an entire work session.
