Migrated topic.

Yes, Renegade / Blueberry was very cool. Actually learned about it years ago here on the Nexus, sought it out and loved it. Should probably rewatch again soon.

Yeah an awesome movie. I'd like to rewatch it again too. I cant even remember how I seen it the first time, whether someone gave me the dvd or I hired it from video store.

I really liked the trip scenes and the icaros. To me it is a cult classic.

The older shaman in the movie, who did one of the icaro during trip scene, is legit shipibo vegitalismo named Kestenbetsa, and after the movie he opened a healing center in Iquitos Peru called Anaconda Cosmica.

When I listened to this track the first time I had the feeling like about to wake up from a dream. As if my whole life has only been a dream and I'm actually somebody else just tripping balls/hallucinating on ayahausca lol.

I need to remember to check this thread the next time I'm sitting there not knowing what type of movie I'm in the mood for. :)

Some of my favorites:

The Drop, with Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini

The Man Who Wasn't There. An overlooked one by the Coen Brothers

Two by Paul Thomas Anderson:
There Will Be Blood. Daniel Day Lewis plays an absolute Great White Shark of a bastard.
and
Magnolia

A hidden gem.
Heavy

Spun. A real weird ride through the lives of methheads, with Mickey Rourke.

That's pretty cool about the older shaman in Blueberry / Renegade. I had no idea.

"There Will Be Blood" was amazing. "I drink your milkshake!" DDL is always a force of acting. Got to visit the house they used for the final scenes and saw the private bowling alley where the final scenes in the movie happen. Kinda surreal to see it in person. I think the exterior of that house was used as Wayne Manor on one of the Batman movies and/or TV shows.

Another Daniel Day Lewis film worth watching/rewatching is "The Last of the Mohicans." Lots of interesting American & Native American history in there that I forgot about. Great performances, loads of well known actors and beautiful scenery around North Carolina.

Never heard of "The Drop". Will have to check it out. "Taboo" was a pretty cool series that Tom Hardy and his father wrote and Tom starred in. Dark and creepy, but some interesting history about slavery, slave trading and the demonic East India Trading Company.

My favorite shaman/ayahausca movie is titled: Renegade / Blueberry.
Two different titles as was released in different countries.

One of my favorite album-series. Not sure if they are available in English.

Blueberry (comics) - Wikipedia

A lot of things I have learned, in my youth, about the Old West were from these albums.

I enjoyed Spun when i watched it some time ago. loads of great cameos in it. And the series Taboo was good. Loads of good films listed here. I watched Dead Man's Shoes again after a ten year gap. Good film, good sound track and great acting IMO. Another film i have enjoyed that springs to mind, that i will try again soon is Tzameti, but don't watch the american remake. It's sh#t!
I tried The Nines the other night after recommendations from this thread, but i just couldn't get on with it and turned it off after 20 minutes. Maybe i missed out...I dunno.

Underground
Once we were warriors
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
Bad boy Bubbie
O Brother where art thou

I'll have to check it out, thanks:thumb_up:

One Piece.
A combination of movies cartoons and now a TV series on Netflix.
Super popular anime series, 400+ episodes.

And for a Movie I do like Blueberry, as others have said.

Team America is also good exercise for the laughing muscles.

I recently watch Der Vierde Man with a friend, and was a very surrealistic/mistery film!

also the story is seems to be arise from a very psyco perspective, such a trip hahah

Okey guys, I went thru this list and let me tell you I am disappointed that I didn't find these:

My most favorite movie of all time, master piece and best movie to watch on shrooms:
Babylon

beautiful scenes, great music and story

others things to watch on shrooms would be:

Triangle of Sadness

beautiful scenes, great music and story

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

beautiful scenes, great music and visuals

Kung Fu Panda

bit philosophical

Scavengers Reign

left me speechless after each episode

There are others I could recommend if you guys are interested, but these come to my mind instantly... If some of you want I might add better descriptions, or new things worth watching <3

Recently watched the most recent DUNE movies back to back, part 1 and part 2. Very well done. The visuals are amazing and the sound bed (all the mechanical noises of heavy machinery and the huge soundworms, etc) is superb and work hand in hand with the great musical score. Well worth watching. I hope the same director is able to complete the story in DUNE part 3.

Ich bin dein Mensch (I'm Your Man) - 2021

A woman participates in an experiment which tries to answer the question whether the government should allow the use of humanoid robots as life partners.

Each participant gets such a robot for three weeks. The robot is programmed to satisfy the wishes of the participant. In the end they have to write a report on the experience.

This is a very well done movie. Philosophical and funny at the same time. Achieves a lot with its modest budget.

Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa kimi no uso) - anime series with 24 episodes

I recommend this if you:

- have ever been to those depths of the human soul where Love and/or Music touches Death
- have ever felt a burning, platonic love for a person which - maybe due to it remaining unfulfilled? - rose your soul to the highest heights
- cried at that scene in Giuseppe Tornatore's Cinema Paradiso (1988) where Toto watches the film of kisses left behind by Alfredo
- could feel deeply into that scene when Jacques swims away with the dolphin at the end of The Big Blue (1988)
- found something inexplicably deep and profound in Zefirelli's Endless Love (1981) which most everybody considers a piece of trash
