Mushroom Soup?

I want to make psychedelic soup for me and my friends. I plan to take a regular mushroom soup recipe and use 50g of mushrooms, blending them all into a puree or something.

I've been trying to figure out how to measure the dosage per cup. Any ideas?

I don't know how good of an idea it is to gulp down a bowl or two of soup right before tripping on mushrooms, but if nausea is not a concern of yours, I'd just follow the volumetric dosing rules.

Blend the mushrooms so they dissolve completely and are more evenly spread throughout the soup. If you use 50 grams of mushrooms for, let's say, 3 liters of total soup weight, and we assume that each bowl your friends are going to consume is comprised of roughly 500ml of liquid (or 2 standard cups), that means you can do the following calculations:

50 grams of mushrooms / 3000ml of soup = 0.0167 grams per ml.
Each serving = 500ml x 0.0167g == 8.35 grams of mushroom per serving

You can replace the 3000ml figure with the amount of soup you intend on making, as well as 500ml with the actual size of servings you intend to serve. Also, make sure you stir the soup very well before serving to make sure the mushroom pulp is as equally distributed as possible.

Lastly, and this normally goes without saying, but make sure to account for the strain and its potency when thinking about the dosages. 8 grams of liberty caps is a slight cognitive tickle compared to, say, 8 grams of pan cyans which might make you blackout.

Cheers! 🍄

Psilocybin is perfectly soluble in warm, distilled water (tap water is fine, too). Once it's done, just use some cotton and a funnel to get the gunk out.

The reason behind this is that Psilocybe cubensis just tastes bad; it is probably going to ruin your lunch.

After that, just cook any nice, strong mushroom soup of your choice, and once it is finished, add the filtered psilocybe cubensis solution to it.

Am I the minority who actually enjoys the taste enough to quid it in your mouth and let the juices seep out like the late Doña Maria Sabina preferred, now that's what I call mushroom soup😄

Psilocybe cyanescens is actually much more palatable, its lightly yeasty notes pairing well with miso. Make a couple of plain water extractions from a particular amount of fresh or dried Ps. cyans, straining off the liquid each time. Dissolve/disperse miso into the combined liquids, then add the finely diced mushroom material for a bit of texture if you like. Season cautiously and try not to accidentally have a second helping. Surplus can be frozen in ice cube trays for later use.

Psil. cyanescens seems to be one of the few active species with much culinary merit, although Pan. cinctulus (subbalteatus) isn't too bad if well cooked.

Thanks so much! This helps to put in perspective what ratio of liquid to mushroom amount.
