so I am just wondering if the fruiting chamber is good enough to produce some shrooms. I just have one cake in my shotgun fruiting chamber(others still colonizing). Its only in there for 2 days and no signs of pinning. Not to worried. But the chamber is in a dusty basement crawl space. It is probably max 60 degrees in there and the only light it is getting is a battery powered fluorescent lantern for 4 to 6 hours. Not the greatest set up. I am wondering if this is just plain dumb to even try to get shrooms to fruit in these conditions?

they will grow fine at 60+ much less will slow growth substantially but ime cold grows produce denser seemingly more potent mushrooms.
it can take weeks for BRF cakes to start producing,I used to let them go until I saw pins then 7-14 days later harvest.
are they getting light?

12/12 with 6500k cfl or indirect sun light is preferable.

apparently cubies grow wild in alaska (i am still skeptical) so i would imagine they are much hardier than we give them credit for.
however iirc heat affects tryptamine content, so a heating pad is probably preferable.

The only light they are getting is from a fluorescent lantern type thing that is sitting on top of the chamber, that I read somewhere is good enough. And my girlfriend is literally not ok with anything drug related unless it is getting drunk. I have tried to bring up things about mushrooms and dmt but all have failed. I think it would be pretty stupid of me to lose her because she found out I was growing shrooms, so I have to hide it. Ive made plenty of dmt on weekends when the house is empty but shrooms take way longer which complicates things. But with my current set up is it worth even trying?

I would guess 75% or more of the people who get busted are from angry girlfriends with too much info, or finding out that your hiding it, within the hour absolutely every one of her friends will know and youll be expected to trash everything or shell leave and call the cops..

didn't think about that. Alrite now I am never telling her what is happening in the basement crawl space haha. I hid a half pound of pot in my room from my parents when I was a kid. Shouldn't be to hard to hide some shrooms from my girlfriend.

I didn't tell my girlfriend about my shrooms a few years back. She found them and man oh man... That's the closest I've ever been to being busted.

Man sounds like your in for it if she finds out. The best thing to do I'd say is to stop after this grow and enjoy the fruits of your labor if you get lucky enough to produce some. Secrets harm relationships immensely but secrets like that hidden from somebody not down with drugs is in many circumstances jail time. Not trying to be a buzz kill bro. Wish you the best as shrooms are great allies to help us in our complicated way through life allowing us to see a larger spectrum of reality as to let us know we aren't ourselves always that bad off and more important notions are out there than our petty lives seem to ourselves. The best scenario I would say for you is not to out right admit they are there already but to explain to her your soul seeks more exploration that conventional means can supply and partaking of such drugs if you will could help you to better appreciate the state of things in general and her as well. If she cannot except you are who you are and cannot allow you to do these things on specified occasions than you have a large decision to make about where you wanna go in life and if your willing to forgo some things to stay with her. Luckily my spouse is for the most part accepting of my beliefs and endeavors although she isn't nearly as awe struck by entheogens as I am. Peace bro hope you end up all good.
Thanks for all the advice on how I can deal with my girlfriend. I have found a much better place(I think) to try and grow mushrooms. Its super secure and wont be found and some mushrooms have already started to grow , about 2 inches is the longest. But they are not in any fruiting chamber. I just put a piece of tinfoil under the BRF cake and that's it. I am wondering if they will continue to grow or will I just get a lot of little aborted shrooms?

We shouldn't be giving you advice on something that could potentially f*ck up your relationship and even worse get you busted... but anything in in the fruiting stage should be in a fruiting chamber.
