My first "real" time after 5 years, not sure what to think

Hello, so I have just DMTed around half an hour ago. It is my first time after 5 years... I was scared this time, since I didn't have any proper pipes I put it in tobacco pipe after I made some ash of tobacco from smoking. First I felt nothing,like it is not working at all, then I put around 40mg of it inside and burn a little bit, maybe half a second with lighter while inhaling. Tried to keep it in my lungs and blown it out. I started breathing heavily, I wanted to take another shot, I just couldn't. I had The Originals show on my tv showing, but all I could stare at was my ceiling lamp. It had a lot of patterns around it.
After short time I couldn't breathe, It was harder and harder, I thought it was because I have asthma and I'm just dying... choking? drowning?
I hid under sheets, and I lost my feelings, couldn't smell anything other than "temple" DMT smell. Couldn't feel my hands, couldn't feel my body. My head was cracking near neck and near the middle of my skull. I stopped breathing I think, and I lost my body, felt like I was gone from it. After some time I started to feel breath again, and that is all I focused on, and I tried to lay on side and try to sleep, maybe it will be better? maybe it will be more?
After few minutes I realized I was in my body, oh this is my body? Then I slowly went to my pc and I was not sure if I can type, can I really type? I started talking my experience to a friend and I was amazed how I can type keys that fast and precise lol.
After talking to him I came here, and made this topic.

I have a few questions:
1. Was this positive or negative experience?
2. It felt really short, was it short?
3. I couldn't feel my body or anything but I didn't really fly away, is that okay?
4. Did I take big enough dose?
5. Should something more or less happen?


Around 5 years ago when I first tried it (I think I did try it, since my friend gave it to me in a pipe but I can never know if the goods were real or pure, or something else) I didn't have breathing problems, choking fear. I had longer lasting visual patterns and I felt very warm and that is pretty much I felt back then that I remember.
After reading a lot here, I went off my meds (I usually take antidepressives) 8 days ago, I did drink coffee, and I had a beer yesterday (it probably wasn't smart). I prepared a safe spot in bed where I feel safe and good.
Any advice if you have, please let me know =)

It's confounding sometimes. It can be hard for the mind to really wrap around it. The mind wants to play games and will create all sorts of scenarios. It will tell you that you stopped breathing. It will tell you something is wrong. It will tell you that you died.

It is important when you use DMT to reassure yourself that everything will be fine from beginning to end. Don't listen to the mind, watch it. Watch what it puts in front of you.

For instance, many people feel that they stop breathing, or felt like they are dying when the use DMT. But you are breathing. You are alive. The mind was wrong. Watch this and see for yourself. It will give off all sorts of false signals. You can take this as far as you like.

If you take it farther than what you described, there is a feeling of letting it all go. You let it go because it is not real. It is false information. Stay present in what you are experiencing. Pay close attention to everything. How you feel? What you are seeing? Stay present. As soon as you buy into what the mind is selling your experience will be altered by what you bought.

What I am talking about is easier said than done. I am teaching what I need to learn myself. It can be a difficult process. DMT has shown me how I think and how that thinking creates what I see in hyperspace and this reality. They are connected.

I feel like you got a threshold dose and not a full 'breakthrough' dose. It is best to start off in smaller doses and work your way up so this works in your favor actually. I would stick with the 40mg and try and find a better technique for smoking DMT. I feel you may have burned your DMT a bit. Look at this link for some better ideas for smoking.

Drink plenty of water and have a moist throat before you smoke. Eating fruit before and after is good for this. This helps with any throat irritation that can occur from the vapor. That weird feeling of choking or being thirty is annoying. Also, purse your lips as you blow out. These things have helped me with throat irritation.

Put on some chill tunes will no lyrics. Relax and breathe. Remember that everything is going to be ok. Trust your body to breathe.

It is completely up to you on how you perceive everything. I would go through your list and answer those questions for yourself. What is it that you want to achieve by having these odd DMT experiences? Go into the experience with intent.

Thank you for your time to post this. It calmed me a bit. When I cooldown a bit gonna try again, this time I will have a friend by my side to calm me down and some music.
This ecig technique is nice, gonna try it.
