Seeing some other gardeners collections on here recently has warmed my heart Plants were my first true love picking flowers all the time as a young girl lol
walk run pull flowers outa moms garden in that order

So I would love to share pictures of my favorite plants and a hint they are all my fav

I love sharing advice with other gardeners they all have their own way I tend to blend what i like and what makes sense but find with gardening not everything makes sense at first

So any info you can help me with let me know I have just started growing cacti in the last few years ??? something like that and have started collecting tropical exotic plants too and have no idea what some of these want I pick up on the wants of the plant sometimes like which ones like it wet or dry ... anyway lets find some pictures

Here are some more friends I started from seed this late spring early summer they sprouted outside in the shade maybe 1-2 hours sun but evening sun when it is cooler
I had a few losses to snails but after I moved them to a spot on a table instead of in a pot in the garden all was good ...
oh ya I lost the mimosa pudica touching them too much I cannot help it have to show everyone how they move and this stresses the poor thing ooops they are sooo cute

my main advice for lophs is to keep the container size very small, and to use a mostly mineral based soil/
often the large pots just hold too much moisture and root rot will eventually happen in most climates.

Epipactis helleborine

I found this orchid growing in my area it is not native here and it is the only orchid I have seen in Ontario so I find it pretty interesting

the seeds here that I found are sooo tiny I just read this on wikipedia
"All orchids are myco-heterotrophic at some point in their life cycle. Orchid mycorrhizae are critically important during orchid germination, as orchid seed has virtually no energy reserve and obtains its carbon from the fungal symbiont.[1]"

interesting I didnt know this b4 I think these seeds are meant to fly away in the wind
I can see how this plant spreads so much with the amount of seed in one flower stalk it has a great chance of survival somewhere these plants are usually a foot to three feet apart in the woods too far to spread by root but perfect for wind dispersal

I have a very dry environment for them here ... the lophs out grew the tiny pots and i didnt have an in between pot size in clay so i stuck them all back together again while I find some other clay pots
The cacti are in a sand mix no peat sand, perlite, bit of clay, egg shell ... bit of cow poop just a we bit ... cannot remember anything else in the mix cooked in the microwave b4 I used it

I have soo many pictures to organize tho dont know where to start
found a few plants in the area this year that I havent seen here b4
had a lucky year looking for medicinal plants much to organize this winter

The orchids I found they should have a mushroom growing close by I am going to take a closer look where they are growing to see what kind of relationship they have with their surroundings the whole cycle of nature fascinates me how it all works together so simply and complicated all at once

Thanks I have been putting the finishing touches on the outdoor gardens ... It snowed its not here to stay yet but need to prepare more b4 we are into a deep freze

Winters used to be really hard going all winter with no green before I got cacti now with these little ones I have something to enjoy in the winter

I just spent some time fixing some more pictures to add some of the outdoor gardens add them in sometime tomrow I hope... so much to do in the fall gardens to put to bed

1st pictures are of the Orchid Epipactis helleborine I have pictures of the seeds in the last pictures

and the grass is Phalaris arundinacea 'Feesey' - Ribbon Grass
the last picture of grass is either another Phalaris arundinacea or Phalaris aquatica? I have better earlier season pictures I will dig up see if I can find out for sure which one it is

My green spider plant ... it is huge and has lots of stems with flowers, plant-lets and seeds

I rescued this mature plant from a restaurant closing and have broken it up b4, re potting it a few times and it goes outdoors in the shade in the summer.

It really likes hanging around under trees My cats will chew on this a we bit during winter months that's why I am not too fussy about removing dead leaves cause it will die back a bit more this winter and grow more in the summer

Heimia Salicifolia (Sun Opener/ Sinicuichi)

I have been trying to find out more about this plant and its anti inflammatory effects this plant is about 2 years old now...I think ya 2 anyway ...

I have tried nibbling on the leaves with no effect from a leaf or two ... now I have payed more attention and read a bit more u need to ferment these leaves to get a brew that works very well from what I hear ....

Take wilted leaves (pick leaves and allow to wilt) or (use leaves that are wilted on the plant with hold water for a few days this will do that too )

place in a container with a lid but I would allow breathing to occur or open the lid once a day or something I am fermenting something here and do not want broken mason jars around
clear glass container allowing sun threw and no plastic it make it taste like plastic

cover with water and allow to sit in a spot it gets some sun / moon light for a day 2 -3 ?

filter and drink (so-posed to be bitter I don't mind bitter things most pain relievers are bitter so we do not indulge too much!! )

I think adding honey would help with the bitter and the ferment for that matter so I will add about a teaspoon / cup of water ratio
I also think that the ancient people had honey, u can brew with sugars like honey. so I think the original recipe could have used honey to brew or to sweeten it later but i think it be to brew with in the beginning ... I have done this exact same thing with dandelion flowers with honey and water 1 day night wow beautiful tea best I have ever tasted : )

I only have a bit of useable material here so I will only be doing this once, wanna get it right the 1st time ....best thing about this tho I take small cuttings now brew or grow out a few too this plant will bush grow out more bigger plant more usable material can be grown for later use to try again
