My introduction

Hello friends,

I'm a fellow psychonaut who loves exploring the many worlds our minds can generate whether it's through lucid dreaming, meditation, or pharmacological interventions.

I've had many psychedelic experiences with all the usual suspects and a handful of research chemicals. Ayahuasca is the one notable exception so far as I have not found a suitable time or place for this as of yet.

DMT is a beautiful and powerful gift to us all and it holds a special place in my heart. I've had dozens of breakthrough experiences and many sub breakthroughs. I love this molecule and recently began extracting it for myself.

Unfortunately my first breakthrough on my own extraction was a disaster and it hyperslapped the shit out of me. I suspect unevaporated solvent played a role. That's what spurred me to create an account and get more involved in the community here. To better understand this fire we are playing with and to share my experiences with others.

Hello, greetings and welcome!

It would be interesting to hear more of your first hyperslap breakthrough - what aspect of it makes you think that solvent residue played a role? What were the dosage, set and setting? Maybe you could describe your extraction method for us as well. How long ago was your hyperslap and how are you feeling now?

Do you have any experiences with other psychedelics that hold special significance for you? Have you experimented with harmala alkaloids, or plants that contain them?

There's such a wealth of information here on the forum, you'll find a lot to reflect on regarding what happened with your extraction and subsequent challenging experience, and a host of kindly souls to help point you in the right direction.

There's also a chat function where you get at least the chance of a more direct interaction - although at the quieter times it may require some patience!

Thanks for asking about the hyperslap.

Here's what happened. I got sick in December with covid. It led to pneumonia and a bacterial infection in my lungs. I got antibiotics and cleared up the infection but still felt horrible 6 weeks later. I didn't understand why I wasn't getting better until I finally figured out I must be going through withdrawals.

The initial sickness interrupted my daily drugs routine which consisted of cocaine everyday for a month prior, drinking 6-10 ounces of vodka every evening, injecting ketamine into my thighs every night, and taking benzo's to fall asleep. In hindsight I'm lucky to have survived both the reckless behavior and the withdrawals.

I went through hell for about 2 months during this withdrawal period. My nervous system was in shock, it felt like someone hooked up a car battery straight to my spinal chord, every nerve ending was on fire. I had nightmares, anxiety, muscle spasms, uncontrollable negative thoughts, tinnitus, and more.

After a while I started healing, the nightmares and anxiety were subsiding and my mind was calming. I wanted to get back to my roots and return to hyperspace. I was hesitant though because I believe the worlds DMT thrusts us into are a direct manifestation of our nervous system and it's activity. I still had (and still have) tinitus from the withdrawals (or covid) and I figured that wasn't a good sign regarding my nervous systems health.

I was feeling mostly healthy though and the tinnitus wasn't going away so I bought the equipment for a simple ATB Extraction and got to work. I did the Spiritveghead Extraction.
A day after my final pull and Re-x I loaded up 25mgs, lay down in bed, put on a blindfold, headphones, and made my first attempt in months to breakthrough. 25mg's didn't get me through the veil so about 45 minutes later I tried again with 35mgs. I should note the 25mg attempt felt off and left me feeling uncomfortable with a heavy body load and strong tingling in my lips where the vapor passed.

The second attempt (35mgs) worked and I was launched out of a cannon into a world painted in pink and blue checkerboard patterns. A male and female appeared to be playing catch with an impossible ball of some sort while popping in and out of the folding geometry around them. they were smiling and I thanked them numerous times for spending time with me. They urged me to relax and I noticed tension in what must've been my body. I tried relaxing but couldn't, the tension kept up.

Then everything started vibrating menacingly and it all exploded into chaotic scribbles and static. I was alone in this world of shaking, vibrating, static-like chaos. The music I was listening to was still unrecognizable. It was like being trapped in a hellish purgatory and all I could do was wait. I tried removing my blindfold and opening my eyes to escape, no good I still couldn't see my room so I kept my eyes closed and waited for it to pass. I couldn't believe how nasty it got. It felt like my consciousness was having an allergic reaction to the DMT. After some time passed I returned to my body and was relieved it was over yet disappointed it happened.

I bring up the sickness and withdrawals because I'm trying to understand why it was such a negative experience. I think either my body and mind still aren't healed from the withdrawals trauma they went through, or I inhaled naphtha along with the DMT and that made it all go haywire. Or a bit of both played a role.

Thanks for filling us in on the broader picture. Benzo withdrawals certainly suck, although I'm grateful to have forgone that particular means of self-torture. While both the withdrawals and the covid infection could be considered likely as much of a reason as any for the adverse reaction, I'm wondering what your root motivations and underlying expectations were for blasting off with the spice. You certainly seem to have a penchant for hammering on that dopamine button, after all!

And I've heard of far worse hyperslap tales before so maybe you can look back and count yourself lucky! If it's any consolation, a few of us here had reported chaotic visuals late last year, myself included.

Mine were with oral DMT + harmalas (so, no inhaling naphtha) and I was examining some physical healing that seemed to be required in my body. There had been hints of this 'atomic fizz' in a previous session and I knew that some musical guidance like icaros or uplifting instrumental music would be helpful. Unfortunately, when the chaotic, uncomfortable experience occurred I had gone ahead despite feeling equivocal and didn't really take the time to focus myself before embarking - let alone sort any music out. It was simply a case of pushing on to get a set of three experiences down the hatch despite feeling distinctly equivocal about it prior to the last, difficult one. There was a physical side of twitching and trembling, too. The main thing is, it's not unheard of. (And notice how in my case the difficult effects arose in large part through chasing an experience.)

Your lifestyle prior to getting sick sounded pretty unsustainable; this kind of psychedelic exploration can be viewed in a similar way to an extreme sport. I bet you already realise it's in your own best interests to look after your health to that end (and in general!) - and I hope that you're already feeling in better shape by now. (Sorry, didn't mean to lecture - open discussion of these matters was the idea.)
