I sowed these last Oct and have been tending under an indoor set up.
Obviously not bundleflower, I'm guessing a type of Phalaris?

Could you help me ID?

Odd, post a better pick of the seed if you can, it could be nearly impossible to id phalaris by the blade-leaf alone.

From what I can see of the seeds, they look like bundleflower seeds and not any kind of grass seed that I'm familiar with.. though the plant surely isn't bundleflower like you said. Is it possible that some wild seeds blew into the pot or had been laying dormant in the soil?

I get some unexpected stuff growing in my pots all the time.. grass, clover, mushrooms, other stuff that I can't identify...

Phalaris seeds are lighter colored than what it apears you have there, they are tiny and tan, bundle flower seeds are brown, they look very similar to mimosa seed.

If i had to guess i would say you have some stray grass seed that just happened to land in that pot, or perhaps if you got the dirt out of a grassy patch of ground the roots could have remained alive by chance to sprout those blades. They look a bit thin compared to the phalaris ive sprouted.

Desmanthus do well with the hot-water tech, is that what you attempted? You can germinate them in a day or so and in another day or two have your first seed leaves popping up.

Here’s a close up:

Soil came from the Continental Divide and was sterilized.
Only other seeds I planted at the time were MH, and its certainly not that…

All of my garden is indoors and hasn’t been exposed to outside air whatsoever.

Also, whenever I journey this grass is by my side and I have formed a deep connection to it.. Cannot accept that my sitter is a piece of lawn :!:

Yes I germinated them on the stove.
Many didn't proceed as this was before I had my set up.

But this guy ended up emerging and being the only survivor!

This is really funny..

Yea those look like desmanthus, if you go with the hotwater tech they will germinate right in the water. Just change the water once or twice a day until you see the little taproot tail out and plant it root downward, should help your germination rate.
