I just tried this method[ Q21Q21's Vinegar/Lime A/B Extraction Tek - DMT-Nexus Wiki ] and,although the yield was very small, the crystals looked great (I have pics on my phone, they look exactly like snowflakes).

I don't really care much about yields, so I was all excited about the tek and the results. That is, until I tried the.. whatever that white thing is. No effect at all((

The stuff is gone from the pipe too. I assume it evaporated and I inhaled it, but honestly I didn't feel much of a taste. The amount was ~40mg.

Any similar experiences or some idea about what might have happened there?

Many things could have gone wrong. Did you burn it? Did it melt thru before vaporization? Did you not hold it in long enough?

Have you ever had effects from DMT?
Maybe you are one of those who were said to be immune to DMT's effects...

Hi,

I turned the lights off (set n setting, you know...)and used a butane lighter, but kept it quite far away. Assuming I still burned it somehow, shouldn't I have inhaled some nasty tasting smoke and maybe see the charred stuff in the pipe?

As for responding to dmt, that's part of the frustration. Until now I've only used the limonene/fumaric acid method and have always gotten a brownish goo that I was sometimes able to dry into a powder, but not always. On top of that, there was always plenty left over in the pipe, and yet I still tripped on the stuff every time.

This time, after getting such beautiful crystals, I was really looking forward to the experience but nothing happened. Btw, I don't know if that had any effect,but before vaporizing I cleaned the pipe w alcohol, then rinsed it with water. When I used it,it still wasn't completely dry.

Is it possible to stop responding to psychedelics? I have recently tried 1/8 of mushrooms and got nothing from that either, but I assumed they were bad quality (the guy I got it from assured me that wasn't the case..)

I just tried another 40mg and the white crystals melted into a clear, oily looking liquid. After a while, it became a white solid again. I put some on my tongue and it really stings.

Now I'm not sure if there's a problem with the spice or it's my smoking technique.

I would guess its your smoking method... Try something else.. Ideally for long term is getting a glass vapor genie (imo)... But you can also try infusing herbs and smoking in a bong, or making The Machine or The Inspirator (check our wiki)

Did you put some herbs on the bottom of pipe or a copper/stainless steel scrub, to prevent dmt from melting through the screen instead of vaporizing?

Smoking method issue, as often is in cases like this. Even with a GVG one can get no effects if the dmt is melting thru

Try compressing 5 screens together into a neat little ball.
The dmt will just be absorbed by the ball and this will easily be vaped

Thank you for your input. I'm using the GVG, but no herbs (just a couple of screens). I once tried sprinkling some spice on top of weed (the only herb i have) and the trip was very long and quite unpleasant.

As for the melted spice falling through the screens,that didn't happen for some reason. I only used 2 screens and the droplets didn't even pass through the first one. Maybe I should try inhaling more forcefully, would that help?

Dont you have some tea? Any herb will do, mint, chamomille, whatever is in your kitchen.

If you had a long unpleasant trip, then your DMT is working, no?

I would bet your spice is melting but you think its not, or something similar.. Get a copper or stainless steel scrub or put some other herbs, and try it out, and let us know how it goes!

Thanks endlesness, I do have tea -just didn't think of smoking it ). Will give that a try. As for the unpleasant trip, that was a while ago, using dmt extracted with limonene. Even then, if used alone I always got melted brownish goo left on the screen, but still had some pretty nice trips.

UPDATE: A little tea in between the screen and the spice solved the problem ! Even though I ended up burning the tea and coughing out most of the vapor along with the smoke from the tea, it was enough to show that the crystals are active ))

It is most definitely your vaping method mate as them pics look spot on. I have been taking dmt for a year or more now and know plenty of regular users and they sometime fuck up taking 50mg doses by accidentaly burning the dimitri resulting in no effects

Sometimes you can also vape spice perfectly and even in very large amounts and for some reason it does nothing at all.

I had a few times recently where I couldn’t get anything from perfectly good spice in some quite large doses (I got up to 51mg using the GVG, my normal dose is 25–35mg).

I think there can be other reasons for not getting off the ground sometimes, although vaping technique is generally the most likely.

Jacky: Yes, I think the problem was with the lighter. Although I'm using the official nexus pipe (the GVG), I didn't want to go to the trouble of ordering that curved torch lighter from England and, instead, picked up a nice, cheap camp fire lighter from Home Depot. However, it didn't last very long (sadly... it even came with a butane refill that I never had a chance to use), so i replaced it with a Ronson butane lighter.

It turns out the flame is much hotter than one could guess just by looking at it. After the initial failed experiences, I tested the lighter on my hand and it still burns when held as far as 3 inches from skin.

dlb: That's what I initially thought: that either the crystals are not active or I wasn't reacting to chemical. I have a prescription for a stimulant, and even though I take it infrequently, mysterious interactions do happen.

toppy: why is that? I mean, as much as we may love it, dmt is still just a chemical compound and, as such, we would expect it to alter perception regardless of whether your vibes are positive or negative.

Whilst I don’t agree with the vibration aspect (I don’t agree that frequency of vibrations is the reason DMT, or any other chemical, has an effect on us – this is another debate though) of the post, I think that psychological aspects can play a part in whether you get a decent journey, I also wonder whether there may be a physiological aspect there at times too.

The times I was talking about when I was not able to get any effect at all, even when doubling my dose, were at a time when I was highly stressed and had far too much in my head.

Personally I have no issue with flying when horny or nervous.

The same here. Something far beyond nervous at times (like now). Often I will load my pipe and it will sit there waiting for several days before I can muster the courage to actually put the torch to it.

Being nervous is part of having a sensible approach to this ridiculously powerful molecule.
