Nation Of Idiots: ignorant journalists confuse salvia divinorum with 'fake weed'

Migrated topic.

Ah, I love being dumbed down. When I was a kid, America was the greatest nation on Earth. Maybe we still are. I don't know. But I do know that we are sinking when compared to other countries as far as math and science education and competitiveness.

I grew up in a hillbilly state. I have hillbilly DNA in my blood. But I know that salvia isn't fake weed. You would think that the journalists in Alabama would do a little research before writing up their news stories.

It wouldn't surprise me that the Feds are masters at manipulating the illiterate news media into propagating false and misleading news. It won't be long before possession of a Pepsie is a felony due to its sugar content. But don't make Mountain Dew a felony, especially in Alabama. There might be a riot.

Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force: 2 arrested after 'fake weed' found at Calera store

CALERA, Alabama -- The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested two people on drug charges Thursday at a Calera convenience store after agents executed a search warrant and "found Salvia Divinorum or what is commonly known as "serenity" or "fake weed" and drug paraphernalia used for smoking the Salvia, prescription medications, and a firearm," the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said today.

The Task Force called in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents after further investigation revealed that the two people arrested had fraudulent identifications and were in the country illegally, the sheriff's office said.

Arrested were Kaushi Kkumar Patel, 29, of Calera, who was charged with five counts unlawful possession of certain chemical compounds, two counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a forged instrument, the sheriff's office said.

Greatest nation on earth if greatest is measured by the amount of retards in politics and in general. Heck, they even operate by debt from countries such as china.
And yes, I've been there.

So... Politicians in other countries (at least yours) are superior? Where are you?

We've got issues (and yes, I live here). But don't just poke at us with your nose up.

Can we perhaps chill with the use of the term "retard"?

It seems grossly inappropriate.

As to the debt...it's the entire global economy; it's one big Ponzi scheme. As much as America is in debt to China, it's in China's (and many other countries') interest to continue pouring money into the US, and ultimately, into a system that is simply not sustainable. It's flaws with the global order, not one single nation. Granted, much of that order has been fomented by the US, but every nation that is a part of this system is responsible for their part.

Politicans are very rarely any good. The systems works just better in some places, just look at scandinavia or some other parts of europe for example... (healthcare, taxes, welfare etc)
But this is not the topic for lame politics. I don't want to write about this matter any more.
