need a new pull method

I have two basic solutions, each containing 1 pound each. pH of ~12.

I added 100ml of warmed naptha 5X to each solution, and contained the liter of naptha to freeze.

I ended up with a little under a 1 gram after drying.

I have more naptha, and plan to add more to the solution, but i'm not doing something right... any ideas?

like you have 1 litre of naptha all in one bottle in the freezer?

Take it out, let it naturally evaporate until its like a tenth of what it is now. perhaps separate it into smaller quantities in separate bottles after that. now let it freeze precipitate and you will get a lot more

edit- sorry i just re-read that and saw that after you took it out of the freezer you let all the naptha evaporate? the ph level needs to be checked and perhaps the source of the mimosa?

Yeah what he says. Mimosa needs quite a high pH to extract.

But also try to use as little solvent as possible. Well not literally, but there's no point in using too much.

its A/B. the wiki says a pH of >9.4? but i'll add some more. each were mixed with 60 grams per pound.

its no longer freezing, im evaporating it to half and putting it back in the freezer..

so maybe 20% of the dmt was basic enough to be pulled? I have this feeling that the pull itself is the problem. how long is a good mix and settling time? maybe 10X 50ml pulls with the remaining solution?

as said before, one obvious problem is the amount naphtha... Evap to 10% or something and then stick in freezer..

For that amount of MHRB, your pulls should have been like 100-200ml warm naphtha max, mixed/stired several times before separating... 1L is too much...

I don't think the amount of naptha used is too far off. I've always seen good results from 0.5–1mL : 10mL bark solution.

People say that it won't freeze precipate unless it is very saturated but in my experience it works fine. This has been true of both light and heavy naptha, and in the case of heavy naptha this has been without any evaporation at all.

im using the wiki's FAQ for most of my amounts... maybe something should be changed or cleared up in that. it states 5X 100ml per 250 grams of bark..

Do you mean you added all of your pulls into the same container?

I always leave mine seperate because if it was exausted after the 3rd pull then it's just been diluted and hence won't precip very well.

yeah, I added all of the pulls together, giving me the liter off of 1 kilo of bark.

Well live and learn... all's not lost. It's just a piss load of bother with evapping, but all the spice should be there or in the soup.

It may be worth fixing the ph of your soup higher, then taking a couple of 50ml pulls out of it with the solvent that's already in your collection jar, just to see if the pH was the issue.
