New idea for STB

So I was talking to some spunion at Bonnaroo this year about DMT and he said he extracted it using acetone. At the time I thought he was talking about FASA but now I realize he wasn't. I think what he did was mix lye, acetone, and mimosa together and then pull the acetone.

So here's my TEK I came up with and really want to try:
take 1kg powdered mimosa, 1lb of lye, and a 1/2 gallon of acetone and mix it all together in something (no water, acetone is miscible)
stir really well and maybe let it sit in a hot water bath
pull the acetone and let evaporate

I really want to try this since I'm having a brown naphtha problem after using powdered bark for a STB and am having to clean up the tan DMT with acetone anyway.

I don't think lye dissolves very good in anhydrous acetone. You would need to mix your lye with water and mimosa then let it dry out and then pull with acetone (basically a Drytek) - excess waters a bitch when evaping acetone.

You would end up with Jungle spice using this method.

SWIM highly reccomends trying a limetek. SWIM gets better yeilds of pure white than the yellow he gets from lye stb

Sorry, but this is just an ill-informed drytek. Firstly, lye should not be used in this way, as it may become a runny, toxic mess, and lye would likely be a bit hazardous at such high concentrations. Secondly, water is necessary for the lye to react, but if the mixture is not dried thoroughly with a desiccant or otherwise, the base contaminated water with will wash out with the acetone.

SWIM would also recommends limtek.
