This weekend I'm doing something new to me.

I have a bunch of spawn. I'm going to mix it with pasteurized straw. Ratio will be 20% spawn, 80% straw. I will mix it all up instead of layering it.

I'll incubate these babies for 7-14 days, depending on how fast they colonize. I can't wait to see how it goes!

Best of luck. have you worked with straw before.

It contams quickly. You may want to get some calcium carbonate to raise the pH a bit and keep the mean green away.

I've had bad luck with straw...the flushes are amazing, but the potency seems to go way down.

In any case, best of luck. Spawing can be a pain sometimes...did you put some staw in your spawn. Apparently adding a bit of the bulk substrate will help the mycelium jump to a different food source much easier.

Good luck Naught! What temp do you plan on incubating at? Ive heard that cubensis reach peak linear growth between 75F and 83F, after 83F it starts to slow down. Also higher temps tend to stimulate thermophic molds and bacteria.
