Newbie - Cielo First Attempt

I've been wanting to experience mescaline for a while now and recently harvested a portion of my 5 foot tall San Pedro / Tricho Scop cactus. I made a flour / powder and attempted a cielo extraction of 100g (ethyl acetate, fumaric acid) which resulted in only .220g powder/crystal.

How could a newbie like me be assured that this small yield is at least mescaline?

Please bear in mind that I am not anywhere near as technically minded (regarding this stuff) as some of the people posting here.

Thanks

I don’t have direct experience with CIELO, but honestly, without lab equipment, it's impossible to know for sure what’s in your extract. That said, if you followed the TEK to the letter and ended up with crystals, there’s a good chance you’ve isolated some alkaloids. Your best bet for a quick field test is the taste: mescaline is notoriously, aggressively bitter. If it tastes sour, salty, or like chalk, the extraction likely failed. Just touch a tiny bit with your fingertip—the taste should be sharp, piercingly bitter, and downright unpleasant.

Reagent kit is probably your best bet.

How much fumaric did you add to how much EA?
Was the EA crystal clear first? Did you see clouding immediately after add the fumaric? Did you stir regularly or let sit? How long did you let it sit before filter?

To @pete666 's point, if you did it all as instructed, you probably have the goods. Though I understand it being less than ideal.

Yes, a reagent kit is a useful first step to confirm the presence of mescaline. It’s just worth keeping in mind that a positive result doesn’t necessarily mean mescaline is a major component of the extract, since reagent tests aren’t designed to indicate relative amounts or purity.

Trichocereus Scopulicola is usually quite weak on par with common PC.
Assuming you first made alkaline paste with calcium hydroxide and followed the tek you just had a low potency material.
0.22% is quite lo but on par with PC and scop cactus.

Its difficult to define the end product as crystals {though could well be), more of a powder. I did the taste test and it was definitely very bitter.

The extract wasnt as dark as ive seen in tutorials, just a green translucent. 3g of fumaric acid was added and there wasnt a huge clouding reaction after adding though there was a little. I put it on a mag stirrer for about 2hrs then filtered.

i have some Bridgesii / Huascha that i'm going to try out down the line as well.

When making the cactus powder I cut the whole thing into slices and dehydrated for 24hrs or so. Would it be better to exclude all the centre white material and just dehydrate the outer green material? Ive seen it talked about both ways..
