I've been curious about psychedelics for a while now, considered various options out there and though I have friends who could likely assist they're rather less accessible now that I've moved to the southernmost part of the great southern land (and I have some pretty major trust issues with things that come from people I don't know ;D)
Mushrooms are rather easy to come by here (various most likely Psilocybe sp. growing literally all over the place) but given that Australian fungi are even less well catalogued that the rest of the world I've been a bit leery of going down that path (also the prospect of recurrence is somewhat concerning, though I'm told that it's not really at any sort of level where it's liable to be problematic) at least not without a very experienced guide (also most of them in this vicinity are wood lovers and WLP does not sound like fun)... Though I have it on good authority that no known psilocybin-containing mushrooms contain toxic alkaloids there's still the risk of misidentification. The only one I'd be 100% confident on is Amanita Muscaria (probably the most distinctive mushroom on the planet, which again, grows all over the place here) but the other alkaloids in that give me the heebie jeebies.
And so I find myself here, I did some brief research into DMT and discovered the various botatnical sources and decided that this would seem to be a good direction to apply myself (and my amateur chemistry experience) in

And although this might not be a popular opinion (but a personal opinion) wlp might be more psychosomatic thing thats been perpetuated throughout the community.
