Non-DMT Extraction; what are our current options?

Hi guys, i was wondering what teks are out there that some of you have had success with that are used or could be used from extracting non-tryptamine chemicals from plants? I don't want to do a water extraction and then evaporate the liquid into a solid because usually this doesn't result in the cleanest purity or may end up containing adulterants. I have some curiosity about some specific herbs (currently being: Klip Dagga, Kratom, Kanna, Kava Kava, Nicotine (nicotiana rustica), Sinnasuichi, Amanita Muscariaand Waltheria Americanas).

It's not necessary that any one specific Ethnobotanical Extraction is adressed nor if the plants i'm specifically looking into are adressed but i am interested in learning more about different types of extractions and hopefully how to perform higher-purity extractions.

Nicotine is a rather tricky one to extract, and not entirely 'active' by itself. It does demonstrate a nueroprotective ability alongside reversing brain damage and increasing cognitive memory.

I'd be careful about barking up that tree, your best bet is to learn a little chemistry. There are also patents available to extracting most of these compounds, including nicotine.

I just did a huge search on aminata muscaria extractions... Some guy was selling 3 grams pure muscimol for 15,000 dollars an it took him a year to make. but for you and me it is easy as boiling dried shrooms in water and then evaping the water off... pure products are for pros here.

Enlighten me then plz. I just read a handful of threads on shroomery of people making teas and drinking them and it worked, then people dried the tea and smoked it and it worked.

So instead of naming plants you are interested in, go deeper and find what are the active principles you want to extract. Then search for "solubility" and/or "xlogp" of each one of them. If you can find it, this will give you an idea of how to extract it. If that can't be found, post the molecule with an image of the structure and maybe some people here will be able to help.

If you do an initial research and post your findings in a new thread specific for each plant or family in the research subforum, maybe adding some pics of the plants and other relevant info, I'm sure others would appreciate and further contribute to it. As an example to guide you, check any of the workspace threads (for example the T. sananho Mimosa spp. etc) . You can use this guide to help with resources on your search for the relevant info. :) Good luck!

Thanks guys :) it might be a bit before i can attempt an extraction but i'll repost with what i can learn. You guys have given some good advice. I didn't know all of the actives in each of the plants specifically which is why i put out the one's i was curious about. But i think i'll try to get that book as well as experimenting :) For science!

Also i had read that D-limonene can be used to extract both THC and LSA. I'm going to try doing one of those to start with but i'll look into the actives of others too. Also is there a way to find the "solubility" and "xlogp" of a compound if there isn't any current known info online?
