odorless whitespirit

since swim don't have access to naphta, he did a research and found out that whitespirit could work as a np solvent.
however it's a mix of aliphatics and aromatics, so spice won't freeze-precip.
swim found out that there is so called 'odorless whitespirit' which is cleaned Stodard solvent and doesn't contain any aromatics.
will that work the same way as naphta?
anyone tried?

Whitespirit will work as a NPS, however due to Whitespirit being a heavy solvent, it will unfortunately take very long to evaporate. Also when freeze precipitating, white spirit does not tend to pour off the precipitated DMT as well as lighter NPS's such as VM & P naphtha.

SWIM has found that upon pouring the white spirit of the precipitated DMT, not all of the Whitespirit had poured off and that after the DMT had warmed up, it had redissolved and SWIM was left with a very concentrated DMT/Whitespirit solution. SWIM next just evaporated this tiny amount of White spirit and was left with his crystals. It worked but wasn't easy. :x

SWIM wouldn't reccomend that you use Whitespirit, but it can be used if you have to.

SWIM reccomends that you use Lighter Fluid if you can not get hold of Naphtha, it can be brought fairly cheaply on Ebay, here is an example:Ronson Lighter Fluid

Done extractions using low odour white spirit (sourced in the UK), it has worked perfectly for freeze precipation. Reduction of solvent was not employed, even though was exceptionally liberal with amounts used (3x–5x generally suggested amounts).

I don't know if UK white spirit is the same formulation as what you have where you are though.
