hello :)

i am happy the internet gods have led me here, and thank you for having me. i am a certified yoga instructor and actress, and would consider myself something of a taoist yogi, in that i see yoga practice as a way to experience the tao., not as a label. in fact, i draw from many traditions when it comes to my personal philosophy and way of life. i've experimented with psychedelics on and off for over 12 years, and am eager to move toward a more strictly spiritual use.

i first heard about spice 11 years ago, and the way it was described sounded frightening to me at the time (i was 17 and it was my first few weeks away at college in a big city), "it will make you feel dead." yikes! then 7 years later i heard Joe Rogan describing his experience in a stand up act, and my ears perked up. i started doing lots and lots of research and realized that i would have the experience someday but that it was something that would happen when the time was right so to speak. it hasn't happened yet, but i feel everyday that i am getting closer to being in the right place. i met a few people within the last year that have had a profound affect on my life, and we all plan to do it together when the time is right. they are beautiful people and all related (two sisters and one of their husbands), and we all agree that we must have known each other in another lifetime because we connected so quickly and easily; and they have accepted me as part of their family. we'll be ready for the experience in the next year or so i would say. i have some concerns i am hoping to address among this amazing community and then go from there.

Hi,
I think that yoga and DMT are well suited to each other. When I'm doing my yoga well, I feel like I'm accessing the same places that DMT takes me, but in a much more gradual, sustainable way that is easier to incorporate into my life than the full balls blast of a DMT rush, while I feel that my DMT use (and psychedelic practice in general) has given me a tangible world to reach into during my yoga practice.
If that makes any damn sense at all.
I would suggest approaching DMT through Aya before using freebase _ I think it made the freebase breakthrough much more coherent for me, but then I'll never know.

I once practiced yoga for a one year period, every morning. I didn't do anything special, just the basic preliminary exercises (pavanmuktasana). As my practice progressed, I found a way of practice where I could "unite" my mind with my body, so that the movements became the expressions of something very deep inside me. When this happened, the movements felt incredibly good and healing.

I stopped the practice after one year because I got to a level when the energy generated by the practice became too much to handle. I didn't know what to do with it and as it didn't have an outlet, it made me anxious and hyperactive.

Welcome yogabunny,

Yoga is the holy grail of spiritual experience. I started practicing at age 16 after I hurt my back while jogging on concrete sidewalks; the cobra asana fixed me up in a single week. The next asana I mastered was the brahmacharya which released great energy in my body and increased my running endurance. Over the decades, I can honestly say that I have never missed a day of at least a mild practice and never ever missed my brahmacharya asana.

Remember, if you have tension in your body, it takes energy to overcome that tension even before the movement can take place. So, when the tension has dissipated, all that energy is available for the movement. Ater practicing asana yoga for 38 years, my body is more flexible than anyone I know, including my kids.

The hyperspace energy released when using entheogens results in my spontaneously entering asanas as well as pranayama, and "the inevitable mudras...",
it's the thing to do:wink:

yogabunny, your views of this would be fascinating.

Welcome Yogabunny! I have been meaning to get into yoga properly for a while now. It's not yoga but I did do a hundred breath exercise every day for a while and I found it very invigorating, I felt so good after each session, it was actually kind of like how I'm told a DMT afterglow is (but without the fun bit beforehand ;) ).

Thanks for the video, you know I love this stuff! I'm reading "200 Trips From the Counteculture: Graphics and Stories from the Underground Press Syndicate" at the mo, and I thoroughly recommend it, it's great to peruse primary sources from that amazing time.

Hi!

Glad to have you here.

Actress!? I was an actor in NYC for a year until the place spit me out. You got endurance, good for you! I frequently haunted Yoga To the People in the East Village for much of that year and found it very rewarding.

I wish more of my friends liked yoga, it's hard to it by myself...

Welcome Yogabunny,
If you've been doing yoga for some then you're much more ready for takeoff :) Yoga is the best preparation for this kind of experience.
Good luck and have a nice trip :)
