So this sounds pretty reasonable: To comsume your DMT freebase orally, heat up some acetic acid and dissolve the freebase. Then simply evaporate the acetic acid. This should: A) Convert the freebase to DMT acetate, which would be much better for oral administration and B) Convert any traces of sodium hydroxide to the much less harmful sodium acetate. The product will probably be oily, so use as little acetic acid as possible. A friend consumed 200mg of this product following 300mg of harmaloid extract and had great success. He said it topped any ayahuasca experience he's had, and he had minimal nausea. I'm going to try it out soon, but I have a few questions: Would it be better to use HCl? I always like to have crystals instead of goo, would that change anything? and, am I correct that this process would eliminate any lye traces by converting it to sodium acetate? I REALLY don't want to swallow any lye.. but like I said, my friend had no trouble. Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated!

I think that it is more trouble than you need to take it orally.There is enough HCl already in your stomach.Just put the freebase in a cap and swallow it after having taken your MAOI.As for traces of sodium hydroxide.I wouldn't worry too much about it.recrystalize your DMT three or four times and virtually all hydroxides are gone.And by the way just to show you that NaOH really ain't that bad in trace amounts.Did you know that they put it in wine to mellow out the taste when it's too acidic?Did you know it is an ingredient in pretzels?Don't believe me? Look on the ingredients on any bag of pretzels or google it.It has something to do with giving the pretzels that shiny coat.I've snorted up to 150mg's of spice and only had minimal burning of the nose and only for about a minute.But I always recrystalize it 4 times to get it as clean as possible if I plan on snorting it.If I am gonna be smoking it,an ammonia wash and 1 re-x is enough. edit to say that the only time you need to make it into a salt is for injection wether IV or intramuscular,or sub-cutaneous.But that is one place I will never go

It wouldn't change much chemically, but you most likely wouldnt get crystals with HCl either. Not in your kitchen anyway. But I'm with QB on this one... although it's interesting, I would never spend the time and effort to do it given that capping and swallowing the freebase, as is, does essentially the same thing.

Well, thanks for the info! Now I feel like a dumbass because when I was converting 500mg of DMT freebase to acetate a few days ago, I was letting the vinegar solution evaporate, and my cat spilled it all in the carpet. GONE. ALL GONE! HALF A GRAM! And now it turns out I didn't even need to convert it. What a tragedy. Luckily, I got 2kg of mimosa in the mail today. SNAP!

Trace amounts of lye are neutralized instantly by your stomach acids. If you mix HCl and NaOH you get saline water. Therefore you can also make lye and HCl from saline water.
